Hello Entertainers,

A question. I am a Squad Leader and Pistoleer. When I am done with those 2 professions, I have enough points for Novice Medic with First Aid 4 and 3 boxes of Diagnosis OR Novice Entertainer with 4 boxes of wound healing and 3 boxes of music. I have the Medic skills already so I know what they give me. What will the above entertaining do for me? I'd like to be able to heal mind wounds out in the bush. How effectively will this happen? Say someone has 120 mind wounds...how long to get them to none?

What if I just have Novice Entertainer and nothing more?

A second question...I was at one point an entertainer but I could never figure out how to get experience. I went to the cantina and the band was always playing songs I couldn't play. If I do choose to be an entertainer, how do i raise my music and healing skills?

A last question...what is afair tip to give someone in the cantina? I usually tip 250. I am not rich but I am not poor. I would like to give a fair tipand not be seen as cheap but I amalso not aSugar Daddy.

Any advice to my above questions would be greatly appreciated. Also, I searched around and could not find these anywhere...if the answers do exist somewhere else a link would be appreciated...please don't flame me though.

Welcome to the club.

I'm not really sure whether there are any hard numbers available for heal times at various ent heal levels, but higher levels definitely speed up the process. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the "wound healing" skill represents the actual number of wound points healed per tick*. A novice ent has 5 points in that skill mod, an entertainer with Ent Heal IV has 25. So the novice would heal 120 wounds in ( 120/ 5 ) * 10 seconds per tick= 240 seconds = 4 minutes. EntHealIV: ( 120 / 25 ) * 10 = 48 seconds. Anyone care to confirm my (completely pulled-out-of-the-blue) assumption?

As for the experience, you have to do music flourishes to get music experience. The simplest way to set up is to drag the"/flourish 1" through "/flourish 8" from the action window (ctrl-a then the "Other" tab) to the first 8 hotkeys of some empty row. Doing two flourishes per tick gets you the maximum musicexperience. It will wear you down, though, especially if you have a mid-to-low quickness/stamina. Doing two flourishes every 3 or 4 ticks seems to be the "sweet spot" for experience vs. action use. Healing experience is gained when someone watches you and gets wounds or BF healed. You don't get experience for healing yourself.

As for grouping, if you find some decent people you shouldn't have a problem. Yes, you can't play higher than StarWars 1 right now, but most entertainers I've come across in public cantinas are pretty good about dropping down. There are some who might refuse, but I'm hoping they're a minority. One thing that might help smooth things over is to change your title (if you're showing one) to "Novice Entertainer" rather than Pistoleer or Squad Leader. This'll reduce some "dabbler" prejudice I've seen in some people (of all professions).

Um, let's see, was that it? Oh, a 250 credit tip is decent for an average healing service, assuming this is per person, not for an entire group of 10 people.

* A tick is the time duration where you get experience, both music and healing. A tick happens every 10 seconds, which is also the time necessary to do two flourishes. It would make sense that these ticks would represent when the healing gets applied.
