Thread: I guess AFK macroers aren't so useless after all...

The other day, I was in the Mos Eisley cantina with a bunch of AFK macroers all around.

A guy comes in and asks "Any entertainers here not AFK?"

I am the only one to speak up and let him know I was not.

He then proceeds to tip me over 5000 credits. He gave me a ton of equipment as well.

Apparently, he left the server, and wanted to give his stuff to someone.

If it wasn't for everyone else being AFK, I might not have gotten all that loot!

Just thought you guys would get a kick out of it.

Hee. Good story.

I have been tipped just for not being AFK.

Well, and probably because I roleplayed and interacted (which AFKers cannot do).

But there are plenty of players who loathe AFK performers.

Love Star Wars, but the few role-players I could find on the servers were outnumbered by powergamers who wanted only l337 l00t and mad skillz. I can't justify paying $15 a month to play a game by myself.
Still cares enough to interject an opinion, though.

Wait, you mean someone took "can I have your stuff" seriously?!? Whoa....

Very cool story, in any case!

I will never tip an afk entertainer. Neither will most other people either.

But I do like the story though. Earlier yesterday I was in the Coronet cantina. There were about 20 entertainers. I said "Ok, how many entertainers are actually here?"

Only one of them said something.

I've gotten a lot of mileage with audiences by making fun of the macroers (& plenty of tips "because you made me laugh"). Especially the ones with spatial chatin the macro. If they pull them from the game I'll have to come up with a lot of new material.

I often go in and tip all the non-afk entertainers. It's not alot, because Theed is popular, so there's alot to go around, but I'm public about tipping the non-afk entertainers.
