Thread: Entertainer wish list items sent to art team
Some of you may have seen my thread called Art Team: What Women Want. Ood_Bnar (Jake Rodgers, SWG Art Director) asked me if I would be willing to summarize the contents of the (now 14-page) thread for him and I did so and sent it to him a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to share the items directly relevant to dancers and musicians (things relevant to image designers were posted on that board). Who knows what (if anything) will be approved or if they will have time to do any of it, but hopefully some good will come of it ![]()

Oh, I forgot...
- Allow men to be topless
This was a common request from the guys that posted, some of whom were male dancers
I heard back from Ood_Bnar that this one was approved, and may go live in a couple of weeks.
When people listen to musicians and watch dancers they have an animation of clapping and tapping their foot, but it doesn't do anything if they're sitting, and they usually do to heal. Some kind of head bobbing would be cool.
- Longer lasting stage effects. This might not even require the art team, just loop the existing animationsthree or four times. Or loop once for each level of Tech. Well, maybe not /firejet 3 or the dancer's smoke bomb.
- More diverse musician flourish animations. One common gripe I've heard and agree with is that the current animations look inappropriate for the slower songs (waltz, ballad, etc). Ideally, I'd love separate animations for each song, but since that'd be about340 motion captures (8 flourishes times 10 songs times 4.25 instrument types: horns, mando, 1/4 of bandfill, ommni, Nalargon) how about an additional "subdued" animation that is used for the appropriate songs. Heck, as long as I'm wishing, how about a command to manually change the flourish animation type(or even turn them off).
- Instrument color customization. Although that mightbe more dev work than art team.
- Funky hair/horn/antenna/tattoo colors for image designers.
Motion capture on existing instruments/songs Needs to be fine tuned!!
Some of the anime just doesn't match the song!
It just doesn't look right to be playing a slow song and bouncing around like Iv'e hed too mach Caf!
IMHO, They need to make a full sweep of all the instr and songs!
And Lots more clothing for Males.!
How about fixing that stupid /flourish 8?
I mean, it's pretty stupid to have it where the the character is bent forward, shaking his/her butt with the instrument nowhere in playing position, yet music is heard. This should be redone. It would also be good to havea /marktimecommand. This would have the character nod to the beat or tap his/her feet, but play no music.
Opinions?
In Christ,
G. B. Jackson

Confirmed. It's on test centre as we speak. The male torso is pretty detailed, too. I made a slightly burly, muscular fellow and he's an appropriate body (and they even have nipples).
I expect a few weeks of male burlesque once this gets pushed live...
Not sure how I feel about that though. ![]()

Yep, I'm sure things will settle down though
