Hi, I'm hoping that I can reach not only basic Entertainers, but also any specialized musicians, dancers, IDs, etc by posting here. This idea is probably not new, but maybe it should be brought up again.
I like to tip entertainers. When they heal my BF and blue wounds, they deserve it. I often heal their action while I'm in the Cantina, but that hardly counts as a tip. Tipping is credits. My problem is when I'm watching a huge group of entertainers. I listen to them all, and watch one. It's a pain in the...neck, to select each PC and tip them, hoping I'm being fair while spreading out what I feel is the total amount I can afford. Usually I throw a bit more to the dancer, which is unfortunate, because you musicians work just as hard.
My idea is, since you are all, for the most part, in a group, perhaps there could be some way to share tips amongst yourselves? I'm thinking something automatic, like group harvesting and looting is meant to work. I tip 2000 credits to the leader, or maybe any member, and every group member gets a share automatically.
Unlike many suggestions for changes to the game on these forums, I think this one could be very easily implemented. Group looting is already half done, how much harder can it be to include group tipping? Not only would this make my cantina experience more enjyable and less like work, I truly feel that y'all would make more credits, as people would be more encouraged to tip. So, if you haven't already, why not request this for your profession?
thanks for your time,

We have been asking for something of this sort for a while now. Perhaps group switch, for example/tip <amount> group, command would suffice. I've always wondered how daunting it might be to be fair with the tips for a large band. I'm glad to hear from outside the normal community of entertainers about it.
For now, figure out which of the entertainers you can trust, tip them, and ask them to use the /splitcredits command. Hopefully that will work out for you in the mean time.
I'm sure all of the performers are appreciative of your efforts to help us, and your generosity with your tips. Thank you.

The idea to have a group tip option has been brought up many times but it is not wanted by most entertainers. This is due to afk people in groups. There is the split tip group command that anyone in the group can perform, and I'm sure if you made it clear to the person that you were tipping that the money is to be split, they'd be perfectly happy to split it up for you. I've split tips among the at the keyboard entertainers many times.
I'd just make sure you said something in a /say so that everyone knows who to thank.

Perhaps the AFK entertainment should be excluded from groups for that reason ![]()

I for one would love a group tip option.
However, for the original poster, there's no reason for you to do the work. Ask who the group leader is, tip the total amount to him or her, and ask that they please divide it evenly. I've had this happen 3 or 4 times as group leader and it works just fine.
Tipping should be as convenient as possible for you. You don't need to sit there and figure out the total tip divided by the number of dancers times the square root of pi or whatever... just hand the leader 3K or whatever you think is fair, and ask for it to be evenly divded.
If you are unsure of the leader's ethics (such as someone you've never met before), then say it OUT LOUD. For example, "Here you go, Ms. Thoris. 3000 credits. Please divide it evenly amongst the entire band." That way all the performers (at least the ones at keyboard) will see it and know they get a cut, and of how much.
As for not wanting group-tip because there might be AFK performers in the band? How silly. If you don't want them to share the tip, BOOT them from the band. If the leader refuses to do that, then LEAVE the band. Either way, now you aren't sharing your tip with the AFKers. How hard is that?
