Thread: Question: What do I have to be to be able to buff the mind
I would really like to be able to buff the mind of my guild mates but I can't figure out what level I have to be in which class to be able to do it. Can someone clue me in? I want to check to see if I have enough points to do it. Thanks much
(Sorry if this has already been answered. I didn't see it on previous posts)
Within either of those classes is a single skill line, the "Technique" line, to which buffing is tied. You need at least 1 box of technique to give a buff, I believe (I don't think just a novice dancer or musician can do it). I might be wrong but even if I were, the buff of someone with no tech boxes would be miniscule.
The "real" buff comes from a MASTER Musician or Dancer. Musicians buff focus/will, Dancers buff mind. With all four tech boxes but without Master you can do about a "3/4ths buff", that is, add about +75% mind for about 75% duration that a Master could do (I think.. this is really very hard to test and quantify). Certainly to offer a buff of any significance you will need at least 2 boxes of technique in Dancer (for mind) or Musician (for will/focus). Any less than that would be a pretty small buff.

Entertainer buffs are a percentage of the targets current pool. At Novice Dancer/Musician you get +10 enhancement and can buff 10%. At Tech 1 you get another +10 for a total of a 20% buff, at Tech 2 another +10 for a total of 30%, at Tech 3 you get +20 for a 50% buff, at Tech 4 you get +25 for a 75% buff...finally at master you get another +25 and can give a full 100% stat buff.
All buffs last for up to 2 hours but the duration depends on how many flourishes you perform and what level song/dance you are performing. At Master it seems to take only about 5-7 minutes to perform enough flourishes to give a full buff, it takes longer at the lower levels....but noone has posted exactly how this scales down. If you are giving a "passive" buff (read: not using /SetPerformanceTarget %TT), it takes about twice as long to give a full duration buff, but since you can be buffing more than one person at a time, its really rather nice. ![]()
