Thread: I am at a loss for a deserving title for this thread... (TC Patch Notes!)

, but I've been asked to get feedback on the most recent TC Patch Notes!!

Here are the ones that seem to relate the most to Entertainer to me:

Inventory

  • Inventory has been increased to now hold 80 items

  • Structures

    • All Housing item limits have been changed. This will mean that small houses can now store 100 items for a Naboo small house, and 200 for the the other small and medium houses. Large houses and Guild Halls can now store 400 items each instead of being limited to 250 items each
    • Large houses should now take up 5 lots instead of 6.
    • Guild halls should now take up 5 lots instead of 7.

  • Profession Entertainer / Dancer / Musician

    • The minimum time required to watch an Entertainer before having a mind buff applied has been reduced from 2 minutes to 1 minute.
    • It nowtakes half as long to apply an Entertainer mind buff.
    • It nowtakes a quarter of the time it used to take to heal Mind/Focus/Willpower wounds.

  • UI

    • Group leaders are now able to invite players from anywhere in the Galaxy.
    • Fixed a problem where selecting "No Title" for a character (found under Community - Character UI page) would not persist between sessions.

  • Space

    • The yacht, the yt1300, the Devastator, and the Nova Courier should not longer take up a lot space.

  • Chat

    • Added a “CNTRL + R” command for replying to “/tells”. Reply currently has the issue of replying to the last person that sent you a message. So, if you /reply to someone and you receive a message in the middle of the response, your private message is sent to another player. This is now fixed by changing CTRL+R to send a “tell” the player who sent you the last message at the time you hit CTRL+R.

[edit somehow I missed the most important ones! ]

I think shortening healing time even more is a mistake. The rest of the changes look great but we already heal way to fast. It seems that they are taking out all the socialization points now. The shuttle waits, cantina waits, all of it. These times were there to slow people down at key points and give them a chance to meet others, I guess that experiment failed .

I like most of the changes, but have to agree with Elwyn that the shortening of the healing time doesn't really seem necessary. We indeed heal fast enough allready.

I also hope that as we will be able to invite from all over the galaxy that this will mean we will be able to kick people from our group that are on another planet, different location, ... (as it drives me up the wall that i sometimes have people in an entertainer group who just get up and leave and merrily go to another planet without having the curtesy to leave the group first. - and we can't kick them out now, so need to disband )

I off course love the inventory item increase (clothes, clothes and what else? o yes more clothes ) aswell as the itemlimit in houses....

Battle-ready entertainers may be more useful on the field now, though. Healing in campsmight be a way to combat mind disease during long battles, and post-battle retaliation speed can be greatly increased. (Especially if BF has been addressed by these changes as well.)

    Good stuff there
But I must agree with you on the heal speed issue, does it really needs to be speeded up?

And another point that interests me to the higher point Do the Cantina's have their items limit increased to 400 items aswell? (would be sooo great )

I hear reports from TC that Cantinas are not subject to the lot reduction or to the item limit increase.... I can't test it myself since I don't own a Cantina there. Any further info on this?

I'm glad to see almost all these changes except for the increased wound healing time--it doesn't make sense that they would to these but not BF, and BF is what takes longest to heal anyway. Besides, a lot of people think we already heal too quickly.

I guess the buff and healing changes (less time) are a direct result of that questionnaire folks got sent a while back asking about SWG. I bet that high up on the list of hates was the "standing around waiting"...

    You wait for shuttles
    You wait at the spaceport
    You wait whilst incapacitated
    You wait for BF healing
    You wait for mind healing
You wait for a buff (when compared to doc buffs)

All this waiting makes bad press for the game.

Personally I don't mind the reduced time to heal mind wounds and apply buffs. After more than a year as Master Musician I know that there are some folks who will stop and chat no matter how many wounds they have and there are some who will not say a word no matter how many times you try to engage them in a conversation. Those who want to heal & go can do so now and those who want to interact are also able to spend time doing so.

The only thing that I hope does not happen is that the speed to heal mind wounds means that exp is also reduced - it's hard enough for folks to get that trained up as it is without having to go to the scourge of the galaxy (Coronet).

    Oh one more thing.....

As they are going to get rid of apprentice points how are they going to compensate those of us who are on maximum apprentice points

Personally I am leery of all these faster=better changes. If BF time was shortened to be on par with wound healing rates, that is fine, I was always bothered by the disparity there, but wound healing was fast enough before. It's the shortening of bufftime that worries me. Doesn't this just improve the lot of the buffbots? I've been trying to come up with the words to describe my fears about this, but it's been eluding me. Does anyone else agree?

Offtopic- Personally, I enjoyed waiting most of the time, and I don't like the changes. The concept of browsing the tents near a player city shuttle while waiting-- dead. Taking the time to actually look around the NPC city you're in because you have a few minutes to kill-- dead. Roleplaying out fun conversations with people stuck waiting just like you-- dead. One of my greatest joys as an entertainer was the Starport Jams I used to do with my girlfriend. We met some great people, and had a lot of fun with a steadily renewing audience. That is dead now too. I also felt it was a worthy perk for JtL players to have or be able to provide on demand instant travel, as opposed to waiting for public transport. Now, in the interest of "fairness" a clever player driven aspect of the game has been eliminated. The game is becoming akin to real life, constantly running from place to place. It's taking the Devs little effort to tweak the timers to give people what they think they want, but has anyone really put any thought into what the effects will be? The game has lost its sense of pace to me, and while I cursed the shuttle pilots like most people, deep down I enjoyed cursing them. Call me crazy.

My question to you is simple. Can you still do all these things? The answer is Yes. You can STILL do each and every single one of those things. You can still browse, meander, lollygag and stroll to you little heart's content.

The ONLY difference is that now we all don't have to. There was a post up at the top of this thread in which the poster said something to the effect of "I don't really mind that we can heal faster, it doesn't really change anything - if people want to be social they'll be social no matter what"

Hats off to that poster (sorry I didn't catch the name) for being able to see others' perspectives as well as your own. It reminded me of when they shortened the ID stat migration times one person was like "but now I can't sit there and chat to my customers like I want to..." to which I couldn't help but wonder "what if I don't want to chat with you, period?" 4 minutes or 1, there are a lot of people that can still play this game. Not everyone wants to idle for no good reason. This doesn't, however, stop those of us who do like to idle, from doing so.

    Oh... crazy. *point*

    -Nah-
