Thread: So who do I trust?

Which one of the corrs is with the vast majority of entertainer players and our audience that do not want BF removed from the game? Is it the dancer corr? The musician corr? The entertainer corr? Or a corr outside ofthe cantinaprofessions?

I am not buying this concept the developers are pushing.

I am not alone.

And I want to know who amongst the corrs serving have made it clear that they do not support the idea of removing BF, so I can help work with that corr in order to explain fully how this is a very ill conceived idea.

I believe the Dancer, Entertainer and Musician correspondents are all in favor of removing battle fatigue. That certainly was my impression at the get together on Friday (6/17) on Chilastra where they did some Q&A. Certainly none of them said outright they opposed it.

Then they can just tell those developers this:

PoetDancer doesn't want these professions "revamped."

PoetDancer wants these professions repaired.

Correspondents when they talk to developers are not "for" or "against" anything. They report what they believe the majority of the community wants, and usually add in a note about the minority points of view as well. From what I have done and seen, corrs do not push their personal agenda, because that would be a breach of trust. If they do express their personal opinions to the community or to the devs even, they do not pretend that their personal opinions are those of the community. Of course, nobody can see into the corr forum except the corrs, so you're going to have to trust that they're doing their job.

I am also against removal of it.

I ask people what they think in game most have no idea, many do not even know the boards are here.

As for the Correspondents, they really have no idea what the vast number of players want. There's many more entertainers then the few friends that post on the dance/music/entertainer boards.

Til wants an interactive and content-filled game for entertainers.

Til wants 15 fleshwrap-clad dancing twi'lek females in his home at all times.

Til wants his c0ff33b33r hot.

Also, I doubt there was much debate about the subject on the corre forums to begin with. I'll put $100 on the fact that the corres didn't even know about this more than a day before it was released on public forums.

But if we have to lose a corre, I vote to impeach that pesky Panthu. She's still hangin' around, for some reason...

Et tu, Til? *sniff*

Anyway, this lashback on corrs stinks. It happens anytime a community is going through a major change and I think it suxxors. Corrs work hard, for free, and take great care to look at every issue from all sides, all community factions (including players who don't post), immediate reactions, and long term ramifications.

This so called "group" some Ent posters claim all Ent Corrs havecome from cracks me up. Eshie, Scip, and Lilo are the very first Ent Corrs ever to have been ig friends before taking their positions. This has been a real asset to our community and has done nothing at all to harm us.

Goodness, about the only thing these three do have in common is that they are all well liked, well respected, and knowledgeable all around Ents.

This change has been tossed around since BF was first conceived. It's not a standard gaming idea. It has issues. The Devs talked about this with each other before any player even thought to ask about it. Being a corr isn't anything like being a Dev, you don't "think of" ideas - it's more like you pitch everything your community expresses an interest in and you discover what the actual Dev vision might be.

If you hit on the right thing, they talk to you about it and get some feed back. It can make things goes faster if a good corr has been able to encourage a Dev that their effort will be appreciated... but don't kid yourself, no corr has ever dictated design to a Dev. No corr has ever stopped a Dev from doing something that was planned, all they can do is be a pain in the butt and slow it down - which usually backfires for their community.

Then what we need is more "pains in the butt" for those developers, so we can at least delay the nerfs. Perhaps even for good.

That's one of the things you were really good at, Panthu. You were corr at a time when we needed a strong voice for our interests.

We need that sort of strength now. Because I feel we are being punished because of those unattendees who have made a mockery of these professions.

Thank you for saying that, Sirii. I had a hard corrship because I wanted us to have attention and I was dead set on getting it for us, lol. I am so glad the next Ent Corrs did not have to go through the crazy stunts that Tiaga and I pulled (NewJedi was always the cooler head ). Anyway, that was needed then and it hasn't been since.

I really see each of the four DCs playing through a leg of our development... andin the end we are exactly where we need to be with exactly the right person as our Dancer Corr. RM, myself, and Deila each went through certain stages that have led up to this opportunity that we have now. I am so glad that we have Eshie to guide us through this part.

She has been perfect, upbeat, and exactly what we need right now. She has put in many hours for us already and will put in many more before this is all through. She deserves nothing but thanks and 100% support from us all.
