I've been having trouble watching or listening to entertainers lately. As soon as i hitlisten / watch, i getthe message saying "you stop watching Ent because it is too far away".
WTH? I'm right in front of them! Bug? Any way around it?
Sorry if ppl ask this 100 times, but the forum search function is "currently unavailable".
Thanks in advance.

It's a known and very annoying bug. The only way that sometimes works (and it doesn't always) is to quickly run out of the cantina, log out, and log back in and run back into the cantina and try again. It's not a guarantee though... I'd say in my experience it works about a quarter of the time. The rest of the time you are just hosed until your next full login (after 20+ minutes), and possibly beyond that.
Another thing is, you can ask the entertainer to STOP for a short while, and walk a few paces, and then start again on a different dance or song. Sometimes this fixes it as well. Of course, make sure ou explain why you are making this strange request.
I'd recommend doing a /bug every single time it happens. If we flood them with /bugs maybe they will fix it.

I have found sometimes it helps to just run out of the cantina and run back in, then you are able to listen/watch.

I think this is a spatial problem similar to the rubberband effect you get a lot outside Theed or Coronet. It says you are too far away because as far as the server is concerned, you are in a different location. It may seem like moving around helps, but really it's just a matter of time as the server location of your body catches up with what you see on screen. So in other words, if you get that message, just wait a couple of minutes. That is what really does the trick.

I've had friends sit with me in the cantina waiting for it to work. None of the eight of them were able to get it to work just by waiting, and they were all there for over an hour.

Yeah I first started notcing this bug with publish 19. I hope they get it fixed very soon, was hoping thats why they took down servers today but from notes it's not.

Oddly enough my alt (he who can actually engage in combat) only gets this annoying bug in the cantina of Mos Eisley. He can't ever listen to musicians or watch dancers there - any other cantina or in the street and he is fine.

LOL...
The bug existed before. Publish 19 was supposed to fix the bug by making it so you could listen from farther away (since the bug was "you're too far away").
Instead they broke it even worse... My guess is, by making it so you can listen ONLY when you are far away. LMAO...
Next time trying going farther away and see if it helps. I have had some (inconsistent) success with people walking out the back of the cantina and typing /listen or /watch back there, and then coming back in and being able to get healed/buffed.

I never tried loggin off and on, nor ran out of the cantina etc. I just ran around the cantina and tried /watch or /listen a couple of times (like 10 to20 times) standing always on a different spot until it worked. This, let's say "workaround", always worked in my case.
This bug seemed to me like a laag or something. Because, as soon as the Char started watching it automatically started listening as well, although I used the command /listen long ago.
Hope this help for anybody.

I had the same problem last night on Yavin 4. I tried teh radial and typing the command /listen /watch, I also tried typing stopw or /stopl to stop any false ongoing listening / watching, the entertainer was kind enoughtotry stopping, starting and even shuttling away and back, but nothing helped. We chatted a bit (the now usual ranting over the broken game), I /bugged it and THEN suddenly it just worked. So maybe just to chill and wait will help. That s what solved it for me.
