In the real world, it's said that the worst tip you can leave is 1 penny. It's supposedly worse that leaving no tip at all because it shows that you have had a lousy experiance with the service.
So would the worse tip in-game that you can get be 1 credit? And would it be worse than not getting any tip at all? So like if an afk'r came back to the keyboard and saw a bank transfer of 1 credit, would you think that that would show them how we non-entertainers feel about them and their afk style of play?

Yes, a tip for 1 credit is indeed the most insulting tip an Entertainer could possibly receive in my opinion. After all, most of us don't "require" a tip for our services, we expect people to tip what they think our service was worth to them, based on their income. So if a newbie tips me 100 or 250 credits, I'm just as grateful to them as if a rich, established character tipped me 50,000 or more.
But when someone tips 1 credit, what it tells me is that the person thinks my skills are worth an unusable amount, which to me is even more insulting than not leaving a tip at all. I can't tell you how quickly some guy hit my blacklist when he tipped me 1 credit after I gave him a complete ID makeover over the course of at least an hour. (After a few folks like that I went to a very rigid price schedule that I won't deviate from unless I see proof of a Maroj Melon and an assortment of creator-less weapons)
Just be aware that as Entertainers, we're acutely aware of how small our overall role in Galaxies is right now, and we're defensive of our position. When someone tells us that the time and skill we put into our performance or ID skill (which is really all we have to offer you) is as meaningless, insignificant, and useless as one credit, its really insulting.
So far as the AFK, I doubt they really would be able to appreciate the meaning behind a 1 credit banktip. From what I can tell, there are 3 types of AFK macrotainers:
1: Entertainers who are driven batty by the time required to master the profession or who have been taught by others that AFK is an acceptable way to "play" Entertainer until reaching master.
2: People who are looking to perform a service for others and their guild. This set of AFK macroers sometimes know they are harming ATK Entertainers through their non-action, but they rationalize that the service they're providing to everyone else outweighs any harm done to live Entertainers.
3: Militant anti-ATK. These are the AFK macroers who, for whatever reason, have made it their goal to purposely harm the Entertainers and try to destroy any chance of an Entertainer being able to make a credit. These are the ones who set themselves up to farm whatever credits they can and take as much business as possible away from live Entertainers.
I think the only class of AFK a 1 credit banktip would affect is the first one, and for them, a well-worded e-mail explaining how harmful being AFK is to the Entertainer profession and the fabric of the game society as a whole, would be a thousand times more effective than a single credit as a banktip.
I hope I was clear in my meaning with all this.
If I wasn't, I'll come back when it's NOT 4AM and re-edit.

thx Tralmek,
for redirecting attention on this touchy matter. i am a nooby but i fell in love with the idea of a non-combat role in the game right away... i enjoy socializing probably most of all in any mmorpg, so before i got very far in the new player quest, i found my self hanging in the cantinas dancing & playing music.... and chatting with the other players.
i do not know if i will stay with this role but for now i am going for it, already almost able to start master ent training. what i want to underscore in your response to Traie is that it IS difficult to level in entertaining thus the willingness to afk it. but i only afk for adding xp; im not surprized when i receive no tips for that time period...or offended. but when i spend a lot of time chatting with all the players that come into the cantina & keeping people's spirits up with humor, teasing, & interest in who they are & what they are doing......
i certainly do not expect to be treated rudely jus because im an ent!..... nor do i expect to hear players talking badly about my very cool chosen profession when im not around to give them a different view.
what is it with mmorpgs that those with a tendency to mouth off find spamming their anger such a draw? *sighs o well...
i just wanted to cheer on an intelligent voice in the forums!
have fun All !
cya i the game,

I would think that'd be a great way to do it.
I wouldn't get mad at it myself, but I don't AFK. If someone did that live, I would probably laugh at it and tip it back to them. If someone started SPAMMING me with 1 credit tips (I had this happen once) I would report him. Actually just the threat of a /report got him to stop.
