How about playing or dancing in the hotels in town? Since the macro-bots primarily hit the cantina, you can start passing the word that live entertainment will be at the hotels.

This works on 2 levels. You don't have to worry about macro-bots in your group and at the same time, we'll find out who really supports the live entertainers.

Er, thought BF could only be healed in Cantinas?

BF can be healed in hotels and theaters, depending on the theater. Some theaters are broken and don't allow healing, you have to check. I have been in a performing group at a theater one night. It was great fun however hard to get noticed and get people to come. It would be great if there were some better way to advertise maybe.

Well, the /register command works in theaters. Do people even check those on the planetary map? Of course, they'd have to go to guild halls -> Theaters to notice, which is an extra click above just clicking Cantinas, so it probably wouldn't even matter.

We found that people don't check that register for theaters, at least that night they didn't. Everyone registered.

People don't check the maps, I always registered at Lucky Despot Inn in Mos Eisley but the only time people would come in was when I was shouting and yelling to come to the Lucky Despot. I also tried the theatre for a few hours while I was working on a new music macro, I registered but nobody came in, everybody automatically goes to the cantina to be healed.

I have managed to get some people to follow me from the setup outside the Coronet starport to the theater. It's easy to get attention right there, and then people will follow you to the theater...you'll lose about half your crowd though

It would be neat if you could turn on the microphone and it actually did something...like heal mind and BF right there outside.

The problem with the hotel idea and some theaters is that you can't always register in them (hotels: never; theaters: it seems to vary).

Most players check the cantina first. If that's got nobody in it then they may think to check elsewhere, but for entertainers whose main gripe about AFK is lack of interaction with other players, having them park themselves in a known low-traffic area -- one that, if there are AFK entertainers in the cantina, won't even be checked -- may not be the best solution.

Now, if you have a group of people (entertainers) then sure... you can RP with each other or socialize or what have you and have a great time. But solo... it can get boring really really fast.

One place hotels are used is Rori. But that's because there's no cantina in Restuss.
