I mentioned this in another thread here, but i'll start a new one just in case anyone didn't read that one and elaborate alittle more. I'm not an Entertainer, but i would like offer my input on getting Entertainers more money.

If you are a pure Entertainer of some type and have never been in combat. I'd suggest you visit the Adventure planets. Not sure which ones those are? They are Dathomir, Yavin4, Endor, and Dantoonie. Those planets offer much greater experience and mission bounties opposed to the starter planets. Most of the time people will venture out in groups to hunt the Mobs there. They don't have "cities" but what are called "outposts" which are very small and have the basic components of a city. Most of these outposts do have a Cantina and are usually void of Entertainers.

There are usually a lot of people in these outposts at any given time. There are usually a few people with mind wounds that need healing before they go out to a hunt. For those returning from a hunt, usually have some mind wounds, a lot of battle fatigue, and a pocket full of cash from their missions. I usually take in 18k -20k after a group hunt on one of those planets. If i knew there were Entertainers in the cantinas on those planets, i would visit them for mind healing and Battle fatigue reduction. It is a pain to travel to a another planet after a hunt just to get healed because all the Entertainers only hang out on the starter planets. After acquiring that much money after a hunt, i would gladly tip 1k - 2k for some healing. I might even tip more since i could travel back out to get more money from missions. A one way travel ticket to these planets are very steap in cost (Dathomir costs around 2k - one way). If i were doing missions on Corellia, then i would tip far less since the mission bounties are far less.

Another suggestion would be to ask one of those groups about to travel out for a hunt if you could tag along. Most groups setup a camp after a bad battle or after every other Mob mission to heal wounds. This is where an Entertainer would help out. You are the only ones that can heal mind wounds. You would also profit from the hunt by getting a share of the Mission bounty. Getting a few missions after being accepted into a group would further increase your take home pay. You might not be able to help out in battle, but you'd be needed afterwards. It helps the group so that they don't have to run back to town to heal their mind wounds.

Conclusion, goto planets where there aren't Entertainers (Adventure planets) and you'll probably make more money than being on one of the starter planets.

I have stopped going to advanced planets to heal, there is no point to. Almost everytime I been there an AFK zoombiebot will be there healing everyone 24/7, I have no reason to stay and wasted my credits on the shuttle. Ofcourse I will do the job better, faster and more entertaining (I hope) but the fact is that that AFKer just spoilt it for me.

And why pay for a cow when you can get the milk for free.... (not meaning I am a cow! *coughs*)

I used to go to adventure planets. I had fun with the entertainers I went with. And I got treated rudely by adventurers. I didn't get enough tips to cover my ticket after several hours there.

You want to get entertainers in those out of the way places, talk to your fellow adventurers, not to the entertainers.

Same here.... There is always an AFKer there healing with a bad macro trying to pretend they are not really afk. The "whooo I need to sit down" line when they have just been healed to max action, nice touch. Ppl are use to them and treat all ents like they are AFK. The things ppl say about you when they think you're not there

After about 2hrs of dancing I made 5.5k I spent 2400 to get there and 2400 to get back. Sorry but if you guys want us to come heal mind wounds there you're going to have to try and get rid of the AFKers and be a whole lot nicer.

I wonder... I used to go hunting in remote planete. I clone there. Usually when I die, I have very few wounds, very few mind wounds. Even in the field, in a 5 hours hunting party, we camped twice. And I didn't see much healing xp flood, so I guess not a lot of people have mind wounds...

And when I go to the cantina, even without an afker, people don't tip. I don't care because I'm doing missions and I earn money with my combat skills there. But I really think it's not a good place to entertain... People only stay there until BF are healed, they are here for hunting, not for chatting.

I think outpost with rebel/empire faction terminal are nicer to entertain.

I've been dancing on Dathomir of late. Yeah, not too talkative. Pity that.

But I have been tipped nicely while there. I got a few thousand credits from the group watching me. When I discovered that they were all part of the same guild, I decided that they paid enough to warrant a mind buff. So I told them that it's faster for me to do a passive buff for their dozen members than doing a buff for each one.

As I was in their group flourishing like mad, I received a few thousand more credits. It was a very good night for me.

So, yeah, adventure planets can be profitable. It's basically your feast or famine scenario. For one, you won't see as many customers as the starter planets. Then there's no guarantee that the people you are performing for are truly appreciative of the effort you put forth. But those people who do appreciate it....well, you get a nice compensation for your ticket out there.

The tips are there, but they're elusive. And for some people, that uncertainty is not worth it for them. I have no problems with the uncertainty as I have half a mil and can afford the trips. Also, if things are slow for the dancing, I have my hunting (though I cannot solo missions on Dathomir and can barely solo some missions on Yavin). Not all entertainers have that luxury.

Yeah, it can be a waste to sit in a Cantina and hope to get tips on those planets. Did anyone read the part about traveling with a group on one of those planets? In our PA, there is a Master Dancer/Pistoleer that travels with us on group hunts. She dances for us in camps between missions to heal our mind wounds and give mind buffs. If performing in a Cantina isn't going anywhere (tip wise), then try asking to go with a group. Even if you don't fire one shot, you'll get a share of the mission money. Most combatants go on those group hunts more for the experience than the money.

I agree, adventure planets are useless... People there don't tip at all and don't want to chat. I prefere go to a remote rebel outpost for nice tip and people.

Even with no afk entertainer, there is no tip !

Is it worth my money to go there or will I just be further disappointed when I spent a big chunk of my allready declining bank account just to bump into more AFK bots ?

I visited 6 different cantinas in 3 cities yesterday, 3 were totally empty and had no people visiting and the other 3 all had atleast 1 AFK bot, so I keep travelling till I find a place without healing bots or major wars in the bar that lag me so bad that I can't even look around the tavern or keep an eye on who heals/tips me.

I fell for the go to the adventure planet BS early in my entertaining career. Here are the mistakes I made and maybe others can learn from them.

1. I play during school and work hours mostly. Therefore Idanced alone for about2 hours with a AFK bot and did not see another soul. (as exciting as watching paint dry).

2. I did not bring a friend with me to pass the time.

3. I became sobored, I decided to leave with the plan to return later during prime time hours. But I didnt have enoughcreditsfor a ticketso I had to send out /tells for rescue money home plus run delivery missions.

4. Once I made it home,I didnt have enough money togo back to the adventure planet,so I wrote it off.

My advice, ask a combat friend when the busy hours are and dont go unless you can afford aroundtrip ticket. I just hadnt had a desire to go back myself.

WT, while I appreciate your desire to be helpful, I think there are some contradictory things in what you are saying in your two posts, and I think this is bad general advice for reasons you see above -- all the full time entertainers who've tried it (Denisa, for example) have gotten a financial "black eye" for their money. But lets look at your advice in detail here...

THIS is your advice. "Pure entetainers" you say, should do this. Yet when pure entertainers get on here and say, "Dude, it doesn't work. It's boring; you often never see a soul; if you do half the time there are AFK bots there and the people who need healing just use them for free; most of the time we don't even make the money to cover the trip," you respond with who great it is for your PA with your Master Dancer who is also a pistoleer. I am guessing she doesn't need the money from dancing, because she can make more in an hour running missions on Dantooine than dancing. I am sure it is nice for your PA. But your Dancer is in a PA. Doesn't your PA already support her? If not, shame on them. If so, then she doesn't need random tips at an adventure world outpost, so you can't compare her experiences to those of someone like Denisa or SlickRiptide, both of whom have tried this repeatedly and found it just doesn't really work.

Why doesn't it work? The next part of your original post is quite revealing:

I hate to break it to you but while 1,000 cr may seem like a lot to you after making 20K, I must tell you that I make 1-2K from most tippers in Keren on Naboo. You might want to consider upping the ante. You say yourself a round trip to Dathomir costs 4K (and that's from Corellia I assume; from Naboo I think it's more like 6K, although I've never done the trip). What if you're the only one who goes into the cantina and you do it twice and you tip 1K each time? Might sound generous to you but the dancer you just "generously tipped" 2K for the evening lost 2,000+ for the "privelege" of sitting there bored for 2 hours while you made 40,000 credits in money running missions.

On an average evening of dancing in Keren I make 2-4K, if I spend the whole evening (~3 hours) playing there. Going to Dathomir costs say 6K, and then to "break even" I need that plus the ~4K I'd have made in Keren, so to make it financially viable I'd need to have a reasonable likelihood of making about $10K on the trip. Anything less than 6K is a real loss, and anything higher than that but less than 10K is a probable loss over what I'd have made on Naboo, in Keren.

Now, I am not saying after making 18K running tough missions on Endor you should drop half of it on the entertainer. But I am saying that, given the costs of going to serve those areas, and given that those areas have a very small audience, the tipping needs to be substantially more generous than it would be on Naboo. And I am sorry but 1,000 credits is NOT substantially more generous than on Naboo. It's slightly above average, if that.

You want entertainers on adventure worlds, pay their way for the trip, and then tip them the "standard" amount while they're there. This way at least they are not losing money in the bargain -- it would work out to an evening at home (give or take), and so it is at least not a punishment. Right now going to adventure worlds is almost like a punishment -- less people, less socializing (here's a clue: many entertainers are socializers), AND losing money. Who in their RIGHT MIND would do that?
