Thread: A few suggestion to the Devs regarding musicians in groups

It's great fun to play a musician and travel around the planets meeting new people to play with. There are things that could be made simpler though, like letting everybody be able toplay in the band. The problem is that you can't see what skill the other musicians have and therefore you don't know what songs everyone can play.

My suggestion is that you introduce a few new commands, like /startbandbest and /changebandbest. This command starts the band up with the best song that everyone can play. If you have a entertainer that just knows SW1 then everyone starts playing SW1 and so on. Thiscommand shouldonlyinclude everyone that'sholding an instrument in their hands, ready to play.

Also, you could introduce a way for the members of the group to see some of your skills, selected skills that only benefit the group like entertainer level and other stuff. This could help bandleaders choosing songs.

This might make things easier for us musicians to entertain you folks!

One last request... More songsplease! Maybe 2 per skill-advancement? The songs are great but I want moore!

Maybe an option to make our own songs? Lets say we send in midi-files every month with tracks by your specifications. The songs are reviewed by the devs and if they are good enough they are inserted in the following patch. This excludes the probability of exploitation, un-fitting pieces and pure garbage.

thats actaully a pretty decent idea, except, /startband is bugged, and if they arent playing when you /changeband, they wont be able to flourish or get xp untill they walk around, then start playing again...

a good idea, there just needs to be some things fixed first

What's wrong with just asking them? (Yes, that's a loaded question)

If I want to play something, I usually suggest it in group and ask if they mind. If there are no objections, I switch. Not my fault they are all AFK and can't object to me switching to Jazz.

I tend to use group chat as well to find out what level of musicians I'm giggin' with

The problem is that people come and go from a group all the time in cantinas. It's hard for a bandleader to know exactly what everyone are able to play. I'm not saying you should use the comand all the time, I'm just suggesting it would be a nice option to max everyones performance instantly instead of waiting for responses from everyone what their skills are. This is fair to everyone, especially fornew entertainers seeking fame and glory like everyone else and most of all, have fun!

Maybe this is a great oppourtunity to RP a little. Get your toon to do some talking. That's what I love most about being an entertainer. The group interaction
