Go to the waypoint.

Enter the building, which will be a hotel or a cantina.

Pick a spot anywhere in the building, and begin your performance. If it's a music mission, play music for ten minutes or so. If it's a dance mission, perform a dance for about ten minutes. You need to perform non-stop, which means that you need to conserve action so you probably don't want to flourish non-stop if you're dancing. If you're grouped when you get paid, the pay will be split with the group. You can have two missions at once so if you're going to do this then it's best to get two missions to the same venue.

I already wrote everything I know about doing Entertainer gig missions out in this thread. It's a fair bit, so it's probably easier just to direct you to it, rather than re-post it.

Okay I'm stumped.

The manual isn't very helpful on this either.

I just got SWG today, and because in every other MMO I've played I've been some in your face fighter type...I decided I wanted to try something new.

Well needless to say the entertainer profession looked wildly different than anything I've ever done before in any MMO....so I was all for it.

And once loading into the game (after spending 30 minutes working out the handling and learning in the tutorial) I even found that Entertainers even have their own personal mission terminals where they can go get XP and light cash for doing what they do...which is essentially music and dancing.

I was really really happy about that, until, in a first newbie mistake I apparently took a mission that was on the other side of Corellia from where I was and after 30 minutes of running out into the middle of nowhere and realizing I was pretty lost...I deleted the character and rerolled.

So this time...I make sure I take something with a closer address (even though it seems like alot of the missions are -REALLY- spread out, which seems silly to me since how is a new player supposed to know where all this is? Much less get there without walking? Please correct my ignorance at your leisure.)

So I get this mission thats in the same city, like 5600 meters away....so I fumble my way all the way over there and I see this Gold spire of light in front of a building that upon further inspection, on the inside, seems like a pretty upscale cantina.

So I'm like "Jackpot! Yay I'mfiguring out how to play!"....but within about 5 minutes...I figure out that the person who submitted the mission request isn't anywhere in that building...and none of the sparse crowd of patrons seems to want me to do anything remotely involved with dancing or playing music.

So I just ran around right there in that area, constantly looking at my datapad to see how far off I was...and every time I left that building...I got further away from the waypoint in the data pad, but when standing -right on- the waypoint, it kept telling me the waypoint was 22m to the South...so I'd go South a bit...and it would say 31m to the North....

Well, the first mistake you made was taking an entertainer mission.

But it does seem like a great thing. Unfortunately the payout is awful (You get more for delivery missions) and the musician ones don't even work right.

That said, what you need to do is go in the building and dance for awhile. Then if you're lucky, you'll get your reward after many minutes.

Now if you want money, you either find somewhere there are players that need healing and hope some of them might actually tip you, or you run delivery missions. The trick with delivery missions is you take one as far away as you can but still on the same planet. You take 2 of them to the same location. (If you look at the mission details, the end point should be in the same direction and within about 100-1000m of each other.. And once you pickup the item to be delivered, the waypoints on your map should be around the same city) Then you don't walk, you take the shuttle. It costs 110 credits, but you save a half hour or so, and can make 1000-2000 credits every 10 minutes that way.

Find the nearest cantina to the ent mission terminal. Go to the front door. Mark a WP.

Now go to the entertainer mission terminal. Take only missions that send you basically back to that WP you just marked. You will see it in the mission distance... if your WP is 340 away, then only take missions around 300-400 away, etc. Then just go into the cantina and do your normal thing (music, dance, whatever) non-stop until you get the mission complete message. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Wow am I glad i came upon your post, I could have wrote it! I just got the game 2 days ago and did exactly the same things, boy I have to tell you I was to the point of tears and very frustrated but have decided that I will hang in there and give this game a chance....hopfully things will get better.

Yeah, and you can take SHUTTLES to other cities.
