Thread: Entertainer Bug

Howdy folks. First I want to thank all the dedicated ATK entertainers out there. You folks make the cantinas worth visiting!

Now, I ran into an interesting bug today. Wandered into Coronet Cantina and tried to watch / listen to a group that was going but got told that I was too far away. I was only a few meters out.

After several unsuccessful attempts I tried creating a waypoint on the entertainer and discovered that everyone in the group was located within 20m of 0,0. That is, the coordinates on the first entertainer targeted and /wapointed was 19, 6 ; another was 20, 6 and a third was 18, 1.

Now, I encountered another player having a similar problem but didn't get a chance to have him try the /waypoint test. I just thought I'd share and see if any workarounds were possible.

Thanks and keep up the great work.

Thanks! We love to hear that! It's folks like who make cantinas worth staying in.

We've been hearing reports of this bug. I haven't experienced it myself yet, but please be sure to /bug it next time it crops up for you. Every /bug helps improve the game.

Actually I think this is a bug that has been in-game for a very long time. I believe you'll have similar results if you try using /waypoint on people in starports or med centers or hotels. Not sure about player structures, but I think almost every NPC structure causes /waypoints near 0,0.

I don't know of any workarounds to the bug at this point (since I haven't been able to experience it) but if you find one, please let us know!

Thanks and keep up the great work.

You too. Thanks for taking the time to post here for us.

I occasionally had this bug pre-CU, I usually had to watch someone at least twice to actually start watching them. Seemed to happen more with dancers, I just assumed it wasa drifting issue. Where in my machine would consider them over here but, they are actually over there out of range. Can't say I've had thisproblem post-CU but, I haven't watched/listened to too many ents since the CU.

Come to think of it, have you tried /smiling or using another emote on the Entertainer before you start listening or watching? It might help the server establish your location....

I just ran into this bug, as well. "You're too far away to watch..." Sent in a bug report for whatever good that'll do.
