...repost from Combat Upgrade forum...

Ok, so Im not a power gamer. I play this game on a casual basis. A few hours here and there during the week. Before CU I could actually enjoy my gameplay. I "used" to play Ent professions, (ie; Dancer, Musician, Image Designer). I could play with a relaxed manner. Head into a Cantina to dance or play music with a 20+ group. Maybe even socialize there. I spent hours learning my dance and music flourishes, and was able to even chat in spatial.

After CU I now take my Level 5 Wookie, (who has since surrendered all her Ent professions, except Master Dancer, due to the constant stream of inspiration buffs, that help me "somewhat" (or at least I hope so...basically its worthless to me as a Ent, I live to serve others only now...) and headed into a Cantina. Danced for less than 15 seconds with my highest dance, Exotic 4. Finished up in less than 30 seconds. I was buffed....okayyyyyy. Wanting to find someone to talk too, depserate for company....I got no replies from anyone in the cantina. No one would even talk to me. Spammed for a while asking people to talk just about RL, or something. Nothing. Dead. Everyone in there was dead.

I spent the next 6 and a half hours online playing the game. With taking up a combat profession. This is over 6-7 straight HOURS now staring at the computer screen, and hitting 1 creature at a time, for oh say....4-5 mins to kill it. Rinse, and repeat, however with the added frustration of having to 'con' every creature in my radar outside of Mos Eisiely checking to see if it's GRAY, YELLOW, BLUE, GREEN, or WHATEVER! I took up Brawling just to try to level SOMETHING. Nothing...nothing without grouping. I could not advance this character any way at all, without a group. Walked back into town and am now having a "splended" time conning my fellow players...oooo! He's level 80! She's level 25, he's level 40! Yay! Oh, he must be a noob, he's only level 2! Better not hang out with YOU!

After my inspiration buff tanked, went back to the Cantina for any kind of socialization! Watched a dancer, who healed me up in a few seconds, and who I was forced to treat like CRAP! I tipped and could hardly say "Hello" and "Np" before I was ready to "get back out there into combat" again! So finding nothing else to do that was "fun" I just rode around Theed Sparceport on my Speederbike spamming inane, stupid comments, just to get laughs! After this, I was bored again, and thought about doing a theme park. Whoops, I cant find a Doctor to give me any Enhancements worth anything, and really, Im just Level 5 now. I could never get thru Jabba's Palace without a group anyway.

Signed off in disgust. I especially feel for the entertainers. And Crafters, my hats are off to you if you even get a /tiphat in your direction. I was forced to treat you like dogs in the cantina today...what a crock! I mean for just 15 seconds I didnt' have to even say Hello to you guys. And I wish that people would "talk" to each other again in game! Socialization is dead, except for guildchat and combat chat now.

Im sorry, but Im thinking of retiering my characters and putting my account to sleep. And I've played since the first week the game went live too. What a travesty!

Im not an uber player...dont penalize me for it, Im just a little N00b trying to make her way in the world!

I understand exactly what you're going through.

I know things really don't look great so far as our abilities go, but we're due for getting some cool stuff. Ways to replace our buffing skills are at least being thought about, we've been told that there is an Entertainer revamp happening soonTM. It really looks like 2005 will be a great year for Entertainers.

If you do choose to leave, I wish you luck and hope you'll be back when things get better!

wow i thought i was reading an autobiography ( is that the one about yourself?) well what ever i thought i was reading about me. given that i am a WNNA BE BIG time player ( meaning i play every chance i can 3-4 hours a work - day then on day off 8-12 hours) since launch week also. i am a little higher combat level. i still feel the same thing. Yes they have forced us to groupand become more of a teambut here it is 5am i have wondered around for the last 2 1/2 hours nothing to do now that my "hunting group" had to log out. feeling kinda sad cuz i had to give up musician tonight in order to "adapt" to the new game that was dumped on us. Yet can i find a group to hunt with?.... maybe if i really tried. But so far i haven't, maybe when im done typing this. ill feel a little more ambitious.

right now thomy 2 toons are afk playing music. ( ooo I know, the so hated AFK) well i am one when i have to be. I had a good service and i cared for my "customers" i didnt want to limit my "hours of operation" to the few hours i was available to "man" the keyboard. so i left them there all the time. My customers didnt mind. and none of the other Ent's seemed to care since i was actually ATK more than they were. Even when I was ATK i used a looping macro. i would rather sit and chat then worry about hitting the next "flourish" so i don't agree that the devs taking out hte ability to loop a macro is the answer. It is yet another way to "hose" the entertainment prof. I peeked in a few cantinas over tha last few days just too see if there were more ATK ents than i thought cuz after reading the forum i was depressed to think that AFK was such a BAD word well you know what lol ATK is the minority NOT the majority. The reason i figure that there are more threads about being ATK than defending the AFK is quite possible the time factor. AFK have other RL demands that take their time and want to "play" during their "computer" time as my kids would call it. So they are not posting on forums. I am not anti ATK or anti AFK I am both and proud of it.

well i guess that was a little off topic. sorry but yes i understand the frustration the CU has put us ALL in ATK, AFK, combatant, and non caomabatant alike we are all in this together.
