Because a group of people and myself went throughan hour and a halftrying to do one of these, here's the skinny:

1) Mission terminals: none. Gigs come from NPCs. I've found that the out of town random NPCs (ex. hermits), most consistently have dancer/musician gigs. Why do hermits know the nightly hotspots? Because the devs said so, that's why.

2) Outdoor venues: none. You will go to the waypoint, which is usually a building that contains a stage within a town on the planet you're on. The waypoint is located at the entrance of the building. Don't be a n00b and dance/play your tuckus off for 20 minutes standing in the waypoint waiting for 500 credits to roll your way. Go inside, find the stage, and get moving.

3) Band members: none. These missions are, for some reason, solo only. You can't mail the waypoint to your group, and what your group does (dance/play/nothing whatsoever) does not matter to the overall outcome of the mission. You alone play/dance for 5 minutes, you get the money, you go away.

4) Audience: none. It doesn't matter if people are there, if anything gets healed, etc.

4) Performance variety: infinite. Finally, do some flourishes. When they say "show 'em your moves", they mean it. It doesn't seem to matter what order, how many, etc, but I'm guessing (hoping!) that just standing there for 5 minutes after you hit /start doesn't qualify you for 500 credits.

To conclude: get the mission from the hermit, take the bus to the city, run to the building, play/dance on the stage, do some flourishes for 5 minutes, collect your money. The end, roll credits.
