Thread: So ... can we USE these props???
Nope, all they do is look nice, like entertainers they have no real use.

That's a BS comment. I said it once, I'll say it again. We do still have a purpose, its always been part of our purpose and that is to ENTERTAIN. So we aren't healers anymore. Fine, at least the bots and spam is gone.
ya that was pretty harsh... entertainers do have a purpose...
I'm not a dancer really, so I'm not sure about the props, but I think the person who said earlier it's like a weapon is right

Well, technically, the Melee, Ranged, Bounty Hunter, and Jedi Profs are all with out purpose and could be taken away. Unless they took away the one you personally played, all of those could go and you would be just fine with just your own personal one.
Chefs and Tailors are just as useless as we are if you want tosay that we are because they are optional too. You don't have to have clothes or foods, just like you don't have to get inspired.
BEs? Don't really have to have them. Docs or CMs? Healing certainly makes the game experience go better imo, but no technically you could just fight lower level stuff and notneed to be healed. Wounds have always been healable in camps or med centers.
CHs? Oh please, no hope at all for them if this is true!
Basically we're left with Novice Scouts, WSs, Archs, ASs, and SWs. One Combat Prof? One Pilot tree? That's all the Devs need if this is how it works.
Of course, TKAs can go with out armor or weaps and don't really need to interact with other players at all ever for anything if they don't want to... so really the Devs will have toignore everyone but TKAs.

The problem is that as far as the game itself is concerned we have no purpose, if we did not exist it would have no effect on game play. What this means is the we can be safely ignored by the DEVs with no ill effects on the rest of the game and as we've seen in the past they have no problem ignoring even major problems. They have engineered us into being entirely unnecessary for game play and we all know how much attention a busy person will pay to something unneeded.

Maybe ravanne didn't coose the best words, but the point remains, if you choose to understand it instead of picking nits. Other professions have an ingame mechanic(s) in place to effect the game world, either as combat or non combat. We just look good. Everyone else gets animations and particle effects along with the skills and abilities they have, and for us, that's ALL we have, except for a marginal Inspiration buff andvague promises of more to come.
So yeah, ra ra for entertaining people, and ra ra for our nebulous future, but don't be picky or rude when someone states the fact that we have minimal ingame functionality. They may have picked the wrong words, but sometimes its hard to pick the right words when something you care about has been beat up, kicked around and torn to shreds and you don't know what to expect next.

All other professions, even, SP Politicians have an ability that impacts game play in some way. The only thing we have is a low Inspiration buff that most don't care about and if you are at master has no use. If you know anything about the real world of business, resources do not get allocated for things that do not have an impact on what you are working on. Any problems with entertainers will not inpact the rest of the game so there is no business reason to invest limited resources to deal with them.
And I know that is exactly how it works.
