I read that lots of people are not happy about how entertainers get paid. So I'd like throw a couple of ideas up for discussion. I'm new to entertainer and so please bear with me.

Entertainers often complain about not recieving tips, or their AFK counterparts are taking business because people use them for free.

A way to eliminate AFK entertaining would be to make entertaining a trade based system. In the same way player trade occurs. The trade window appears. Aspecific time limit is selected 1, 5, 10, 20 mins, inspiration buff time and a rate per minute. Then the transaction takes place.

You're not restricted. For example if you agree to 20mins, and leave after 7, you will have only paid for 7. Or pay for 120 mins Inspiration buff and leave after 80mins, you pay for 80.

Or impose a standard flat rate based upon skill level. i.e Novice Dancer3 seconds per dancer. +1 credit per second for each box completed to Master Dancer. And this ticks automatically until a) entertainer stops dancing, b) patron stops watching, c) patron runs out of credits. But this wouldnt eliminate AFK entertainers.

The other thing is to make the amount paid based upon number of minutes of inspiration buff recieved. Or make Inspiration buffs an additional charge. Maybe this could be pre-determined through a trade style window, ensuring patrons only get what they pay for.

I havent spent time working on the financial implications of the figures given above, they'reonly examples. I'll leave the maths to people who are qualified.
