Before Publish 20, this was my template:

Master Bounty Hunter
Master Carbineer

Combat Medic 4/0/0/0

After Publish 20,I respec'd to thistemplate:

Master Dancer

Master Image Designer

Entertainer 4/3/4/4

Doctor 0/0/0/4

Am I missing something about why people don't wanna be entertainers any more? I know there's no more BF and all, but I appreciate being able to just soak in the peace of the game and get away from the hubbub that accompanies combat.

Other perks of my template:

Learningto breakdance watching my toon tear it up.

Making all Intrepid's ugly ducklings look FABULOUS.

Getting more money from a Jedi's tip than I could have killing that same Jedi as a BH.

Unlimited holoemotes.

And I'm still very useful ... I have a whole tree of doctor's buffs!

I agree with you completely. I have a full entertainer template as an alt on another server, and play her from time to time. It's a nice, fun, RP profession. Full-time, however, I did try. After about a month, I was incredibly bored.

This was back in when BF really hit you hard and the cantinas in every city was full. So, sadly, everyone would /watch or /listen and go have a sandwich or play with the wife. There was no RP, no talking, really.

Now, it may be different. Dunno. ;P

Thanks Tralmek! And yes, I also havea pure combat character (master tk / master pikeman) on another server so my play is fairly balanced. But dangit, entertainer can be just as fun and even more so than combat!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Enting! (I wonder if we ever confuse any Lord of the Rings fans calling ourselves Ents )

Though RPers, my crew is mostly a combat-oriented guild, so I took Master Carbineer and Master Smuggler. But the rest of my skillpoints I put into the music line of entertainer. At the time, I could play four instruments and five songs. Now I can only play two instruments, which was rather disappointing. But the sound didn't change for me, just the look of my horn. At any rate, I've not missed the extra combat bonuses I'd get from putting those points into something else.
