How do you complete entertainer missions? I stand at the waypoint and dance and dance and nothing happens. The Holocron says i need to dance for an agreed time and number of routines but the mission descriptions don't say any hing about those.

Anyplace inside the venue will work. The hotels have a stage but you don't have to use it. Just make sure you're someplace inside the building.

Entertainer missions are strange that way. I've this theory that the waypoint is actually a sort of toggle that starts the timer running. If I logout with an entertainer mission and try to complete it in a later session, I never seem to succeed unless I leave and re-enter the venue by crossing the waypoint again. This would also imply that you should always enter through the front door (where the waypoint is) rather than through a back door like many cantinas have.

In addition to playing/dancing inside, you also have to perform for 10 minutes straight (give or take a couple xp ticks). /changemusic or /changedance is OK, but stopping (even if its because you're tired out) resets the timer and you have to start over. There isn't any requirement to flourish, so just doing a /startdance; /pause 620; /stopdance should complete the mission.

The waypoint usually leads to a cantina or theatre entrance, you have to go inside and dance / play music there for the mission to complete.

Thanks for asking this BionicEwok (nice name btw), I started my first entertainer last night and continuosly failed to complete an entertainer mission , so you've saved me having to ask.

Thanks to all that have replied, I shall head off to my mission terminal and try once more to entertain the masses

I've been doing a new Musician on a new server for me. No cash. I started out with no combat skills, because I wanted to do it all Entertainer. (That was a mistake I rectified after a couple days.)

But once I got straightened out about not being a doofus and actually hitting the Musician tab if I want a mission for playing, not dancing, I did it straight for several days. Yes, the pay sucks in comparisson to other professions' missions. But you're just standing there not moving playing/dancing anyway, so you might as well get a couple credits while you're doing it. In a smalltown like Doaba Guerfel tips are slim. Add onto that that there are no other entertainers in that city (or at least none that stay for more than 20 minutes, and none with higher skill than mine) so I had to pay an NPC for all my training through Dance, Music, Image Design and Entertainment Healing. Well, except for Music 3 and EntHeal 2, I think, that I got from a very nice Novice Musician in Kaadara when I went there to pick up the only Fanfar and Kloo Horn I could find (surprise, he'd made the Kloo Horn).

Anyway, I've learned a couple tricks to the Entertainer Mission Terminal now.

  1. Just use the one right outside the Cantina front door

  2. Remember to select Dancer or Musician as appropriate from the tabs along the top

  3. Keep hitting Refresh 'til you get one for the Cantina you're next to, for at least 150cr (in Doaba Guerfel, the Ent. Mission Terminal right next to the Cantina incorrectly displays the distance as 300m, and in Tyrena it's the one that's 36m away, I think, which is confusing 'cause the Hotel is right across the street at, like, 41m)

  4. Get another one for the same spot for at least 150cr

  5. Hit ALT so that the Mission Terminal window, for all intents and purposes, minimizes

  6. Go in the Cantina's front door. Stop. Hit ALT to bring the mission term window back up. Hit ALT again to minimize it again

  7. Go stand wherever you're going to stand to sing/dance and hit ALT again. You should be able to keep the mission terminal window open, Refresh 'til you get a good prospect for the first of the next pair, and then when your two missions pay off, get another two (the distance changes, but it's not far off from what it is standing right by the mission terminal)

  8. You can't stop for 10 minutes, but that doesn't mean you can't flourish and get xp. Just don't go overboard. Use that xp fade feature. Honestly, you get more xp over time that way anyway if your stats don't allow you to flourish all the time anyway

  9. If you don't mind delaying your payoff, you can flourish yourself silly in the hopes of a good tip when a patron comes in. You do that, though, and you'll tire yourself out and need to rest, and that stops the 10 minute timer on the gig mission

Lemme know if you have other questions. Considering the crappy payout of the gig missions, I think having the mission terminal window open so you don't have to leave the cantina and leave any potential patrons standing in there is acceptable.
