I haven't seen anyone post a requestfor this, so I'll put it out.

I have a band/dance troupeon the Tarquinas server called "Solar Flair." We've played several gigs and one thing I'd like to be able to do as bandleader is quickly change the "formation" of the band. Often we will have one performer show up late and everyone has to stop playing/dancing to put the new person in the lineup. I'd like something similar to what the Squad Leader has so I can select a formation (line, half circle, V, etc.) and have all the musicians/dancers move into that formation without missing a beat.

Would something like that be possible?

Anything's possible.

Since you're talking about a variation of an existing skill, I imagine it could be done. Just a question of whether the devs like the idea and when they have time to do it. Even if I brought it up and they said sure, it would likely be a couple of months before you saw it live.

It's a good idea. I'll add it to the suggestion list.

After looking over the Squad Leader skill tree and doing a cursory search of their forum, it appears to me that squad leaders do NOT have a formation command. /formup doesn't impose a formation, it just helps the group recover from status effects.

That means that implementing your suggestion is not as simple as just copying someone else's ability onto the entertainer skill tree. I'll keep it on suggestion list, though.

Though, now that I think about it, don't CHs have the ability to move their pets in different formations? Wedge, Column, Line, etc.? (Not that I'm comparing entertainers to pets!) ;-)

Maybe,though I think that's mainly for movement purposes rather than rearranging where critters are standing.

Movement of NPCs is different than movement of PCs though. When they want an NPC to move, they give a location they want it to be, and the AI takes care of getting it there. However PC movement is all controlled by that player's client. If anything this would be a variant of auto-follow (Which actually can do formations.. If you are off to the side when you start following, you will remain off to the side)
