Hi Everyone.

Well I am new to Entertainer and I came here for some info from all you veterans out there.

I currently have Musicianship 2 and Entertainer Healing 3. I am using a Fizz. I seem to be only getting 10 xp every 10 seconds. I am in a 20 person group playing Star Wars 2. I was curious if there is a quicker way to gain xp. I am doing flourishes every 10 seconds, and I have a macro set up for that, that does it in order. AND I am not an AFK hologrinder for this. I was getting bored of crafting and fighting and I haven't got into Entertaining, and I love it, its a lot of fun.

Can anyone help me out, any ideas? Or do I actually have to be in a Cantina for over 15 hours to get the 2 next skill boxes for the Musician tree?

Thanks in advance

Styrak

Believe it or not that sounds accurate... it's slow. This is why the urge to afk is so tempting. Fight the dark side!!

  1. Make sure you're using the highest instrument you can use, not the highest you can make. I believe that you are currently, but don't be shy about asking for someone to make you a fanfar when you can use one. Also, if someone is "upgrading" instruments in your group after leveling, don't be shy about asking for the old instrument.

  2. Make sure bandflourishes are OFF. You get no xp if someone is flourishing for you, and some of those might sneak in and ruin your flourishes.

  3. Music flourishesqueue up - make sure to flourish TWICE (in a row) every 10 seconds. If you want to save some energy, hit two flourishes and then wait 20 seconds before doing the next flourishes. (so something like /flo 1; /flo 2; /pause 10 or 20 etc)

  4. The song matters, but not as much as the instrument. Better to play sw1 on the highest instrument you can in a group than to play a higher level song by yourself.

  5. Have fun and chat it up with your friends. The time will go by quickly. Switch cantinas if yours is full of zombies. The xp will be slower but it will be worth it.

I agree with this but only because of the group vs solo. In my experience an instument playing any lower song will give the same xp as any lower instrument playing that song. I get 48xp with 1 listener playing Virtuoso with any instrument, and I get the same 48xp with 1 listener playing the nalargon on starwars1.

To get the best xp use your best instrument OR play your best song. If you're doing one, the other doesn't matter.

To answer the original poster's question.. For music you have to flourish twice every 10 seconds to get the most xp. It sounds like you are just flourishing once. Besides, it sounds better if you keep flourishing.
