Thread: Clapping/Cheering do anything?
You can blame me for the nerf to /clap and /applaud. In beta, /clap used to confer lots of XP *every* time someone /clapped. One day I was tooting my slitherhorn in the cantina in Mos Eisley, and a dev (at least I think it was a dev) asked me to watch my XP while he spammed /clap at me. I got lots ofextra XP per clap. A day or two later, wham, a hotfix went in, and /clap conferred only a teeny bit of XP, and then only once or twice every 10-20 seconds. Judging by the previous poster's comments, that's where we are today.
So, mea culpa. ![]()

I'm glad it doesn't give much xp. I was in Coronet cantina (I know, ick) one night and one guy had his alt macro-clapping for his dancer character every 10 seconds. I finally had to add him to ignore - it was clear that neither the clapper nor the entertainer were atk, and the cheering was driving me nuts. I would hate to reward that dork much for polluting the cantina with his spammed macro emotes.
There was a guy in the med center last night that was AFK tumbling for Medics, would've have been fine But he was spamming "Ill tumble for ya" every 3 seconds. If I was a tad bit more evil, I wouldve used the following macro on him.
/tell <hisname> "Thanks for tumbling for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!";
/ui action toolbarSlot00;
Put that in slot 1 and thank him for the wonderful service he was providing ![]()
ROFL!
