According to a thread I read on the dancer forum, you will not lose your cantina if you drop master. You are unable to transfer ownership to anyone who is not master though.

Our musician dropped master and (so far) the cantina has not gone poof. I think it's risky to do, because they may well fix that, but he paid for the cantina so ... meh.

That was my question. I really want to be an entertainer in my Master Architect/Master Artisans pre-retirement. But i can grind through chef faster, satisfy my holo, and then entertain at my leisure. Don't want to lose the cantina in the process. CSRs have been no help. One said "I see no reason why you would lose it", and another said "You won't lose the cantina, but you will lose the cantina designation." When I asked what that would mean to my business, he said "you have to be a master Chef, or master entertainer (I assume he means dancer or musician) to run a cantina." Well big freakin' duh. Sorry, had to vent a little too.

I have heard about a half-dozen people say they surrendered Master without any effect on their cantina, but I haven't tried it myself.

More importantly, we've heard none who say they surrendered master and did lose their cantina. I'm sure if it happened, there would have been a huge outcry and an angry post by the ex-cantina owner.
