Ok so I admit, I did the musican prof because of a holo grind.

However, I have to say the afk'ers suck. I was, at first, not really opposed to afk'ers. Then I started my grind, and even still I was not opposed to afk'ers. Hell eveyone has a life...well I don't but that is beside the point. But people do have to work, pick up kids, I understand all that. Then I became leader of a group. I was lead for 6 hours, and still no one would take lead from me. At one point I got a very urgent phone call and begged people to take lead for me, only one person reluctantly agreed. The problem as I see it isfirstly, everyone has a life so afk is understandable, but not for a whole day, and not when you just get into a group, and instantly go afk. People need to share the responsibility of leading a group. I worked very hard as leader, bringing in new people, asking for heals for the group, and working to get injured people to come in, it was beneficial for everyone, including the afk'ers, but they did not have to work for it. Secondly, and most importantly, is the response from swg regarding this line of professions. It seems to me that musicians and dancers are the red-headed step child of the universe. I mean there is really no significant benefit to either prof till you make master, hence why sit and watch your xp creep, when you can just ak for a day or two and see some real results. Hence the way thing are designed there is just no incentive to stay at your keyboard till you make master.

Now I got into a cantina and everyone is afk, and I think why bother even coming in here only to find no one alive to give me that buff.

I have kept a mental note of the people who did the most offensive afk'ing when I was grinding and i can tell you that I never will use any of them for services. I will also advise my guild and anyone else of the same.

Lastly, now with food/drink buffs with mind buffing qualities lasting 35 mins, the need for live buffs is being reduced. I wish all the performers the best of luck, as I fear these profs are becoming less and less useful.

I don't know anyone who is in any group, here or in real life, that likes to do all the work while everyone else gets a free ride.
