Hello Dears!

I'd like to put a "Help Wanted" sign on every server that says this:

WANTED:

Dedicated, hard working entertainers needed to service the galaxies. The benefits include flexible hours, good pay, low expenses, and a lot of fun meeting people from all planets, species, and political affiliations. The requirements include attentiveness, politeness, a sense of humor, and the enthusiasm to try new things. If you feel you have what it takes, apply within.

Because if you look at your galaxy forums, you'll find that there is a shortage of entertainers, and by that I mean, a shortage of people who really do this profession right.

And there are opportunities too, from getting your own furnished cantina, to getting high-paying gigs with player events. In fact, I have to say that as an entertainer who plays this profession with enthusiasm and skill, I am overworked. Yes, that's right. I have so much work that people want me to do that I am getting seriously burned out. Every day there seems to be a party or something going on, maybe two or three a night, and if I don't drag Sirii there to do it, and the other handful of players I know don't drag themselves to do it, chances are they won't get entertainment at all.

And this is a shame, because sometimes I'd like to go and explore the other content in the game too. Not only that, but it takes me away from the place they need me and people like me the most: the cantinas. I LOVE the cantinas, its new and exiting every time I go. I'm beginning to hate player events, because although they pay very well for good talent, its hardly new or exiting. In fact, its a LOT of work, and like I said, the same people.

You know, I sometimes tell the wedding planner or the party coordinator, "Can't you call someone else?" Unfortunately, there is really nobody else they can call. Because while we have more characters playingStar Wars 1than ever before, and more dancers dancing than ever before, I can really only count, at the most, TWENTY individuals who do what I and other entertainers do. Which is strange, because what I do is not anything anybody else can't do if you understand exactly how this profession is to be played.

Which is funny, because there are more people than EVER before giving out buffs, BF healing, and mind wound healing. Technically, I should have my work and tips decrease instead of increase. However, ever since the christmas holocron giveaway, I have gotten more in tips than EVER before. I have gotten more requests for gigs than EVER before. I have gotten more respect than EVER before, and its because the things we are doing are becomming more and more rare that players are quick to reward the ones who make even some semblance of an attempt to make their cantina stay even vaugely more interesting than what they are used to.

But I have to warn you, if you are planning to enter the exiting, seedy, and rewarding career of cantina life, you'd better show up tothe cantinawith more than your slitherhorn an a repeating macro. Because if you do, you'll just add to the clutter that is already there, and I'm not talking as an entertainer that will be forced out of a job by you.Like I said, someone like me has more work than she knows what to do with. I'm talking as a patron of the cantinas who want more than what your simple macro can give them.

Because you have to understand that if you want to make a career out of this gig that all it takes is ONE customer who is convinced you are not working to ruin you, and if you go AFK, you'll be convincing many of your future customers that you don't really care about their enjoyment. And when it comes time for them to pay you for a player event, they'll rather overbook the twenty of us who can name our price over you for a fraction of the price, because they are not going to take the risk that you aren't going to show up. And when I mean show up, I mean more than parking your toon and setting your macro.

But if you DO want to work at this thing, and find the challenge in it, you'll have the ability to make a LOT of credits without needing factories, or power, or resources, or armour, or guns, or stims, or buffs. You'll be so respected that they'll buff you FOR FREE, and you'll get more offers to join PAs, cities, and groups than you'll know what to do with. You'll be so loved that you'll be the conversation of half the /tells in the galaxy. You'll have the freedom to do what you want, knowing that if you run low on credits you can go to nearly any cantina and have the skills to make plenty in a short amount of time.

But you have to understand what it is that we do, and how to get better at it. We don't sell healing. We don't sell buffs. Doctors do those things. We sell an immersive experience that can only come from a live player. Wan't to learn how to give them this immersive experience? Stick around. We have plenty of players that will give you tips on how to do it. First things first though, in order to work, you have to show up to work. Want to know what to do once you get there? Stick around. We'll make a star out of you yet!

Here here.

Any willing and enthusiastic entertainers on Chilastra: Please feel free to send me (Kora) an email in game or a PM here or a /tell if I'm online. I know that on Chilastra there are several other entertainers out looking for people that want to join in the fun. One of those people is Fragpuppie, I'm sure he won't mind if I drop his name as someone to contact if you are a musician or dancer looking for a band larger than 1 and a gig different from the NPC cantinas.

Let's share the player event burden so that everyone on the server doesn't get tired of hearing the same one (possibly two) band over and over at every wedding and at every PvP tourny and at every grand opening event till the space expansion.
