I fail to see how playing music or dancing for NPC's in a unique new game experience. They stand around and clap for me all the dang time. Whoopity-doo. Wow, maybe these ones will say something more than, "Can I help you?"
These "quests" (and i use the term lightly) are pretty repetitive and not exactly the most creative of things. On the other hand, we get a new song/dance (that's 1 new song or dance) after we complete this NPC run-around.
Here's the jist of our "unique new game experience."
NPC theater manager says "play this song and do these flourishes" and 3 NPC judges pop up.
NPC theater manager says "go find a cantina and have 10 people listen to you."
NPC theater manager says "play this song and that song and do these flourishes" and 3 NPC judges pop up.
NPC theater manager says "go find a cantina and have 20 people listen to you."
NPC theater manager says "play this song, this song, and that song, and do these flourishes" and 3 NPC judges pop up.
NPC theater manager says "go find a cantina and have 30 people listen to you."
Wow, what a unique game experience. It took em how long to come up with this one? I'm really glad they ignored the many wonderful ideas our community has posted regarding new content for us, and a purpose in the GCW.
But hey, now instead of player NPC's (AFK'ers and buffbots) we get to interact with genuine NPC's in a unique game experience that's repetitive and boring.
My point is, why do we have to do these little missions to get skills we should just GET. Isn't this our profession? To entertain? Did Droid Engineers run missions just to get new droid schematics? Did Image Designers run around to get new hairstyles? Then why do we have to put the monkey suit on and dance/play for freakin' NPC's just so we can gain a new ability that will (SHOCK) help us with our professions and actually entertain with some new content?
What a joke, just give us some content already. Enough of this. Musicians should have like 30 songs by now, and Dancers should have like 40 dances. It makes no sense that after 1 1/2 years, we've got 1 new song and 1 new dance coming out. That's a travesty of content, and exemplifies how piddly we are to these folks.
They're pandering to us, and at the same time, wasting our time with NPC's we have to "entertain." What kind of sick joke is that...

Fact is, we asked for new missions. Maybe we weren't specific enough in what we meant, but the entertainer community has been quite vocal in their desire for new missions. I'm sure this is a result of that.

Let me explain the Dev's rational...
Dev1: Since ATK patron's prefer to watch the NPC equavilent of Entertainers, ie. BuffBots and AFKs.... Entertainers must prefer NPC patrons in exchange...
Dev2: That has to be it
Dev3:sureNPC's can't talk, but they might tip better.
Dev2: Those Entertainers are always complaining about tips and poor paying missions.
Dev1: So, we get two birds with one stone. I am brilliant!
Dev2: And... we can make the NPC's clap. They'll appreciate that.
Dev3: Even better, we can make them clap... and shout recycyled praises! And we can call it "Unique" because it has never been done before in MMORPG's
Dev2: "Unique" is good...
Dev1: I am brilliant!
etc.
You get the idea....

I believe the entertainer community has been quite vocal about getting missions that actually pay more than it costs to do them. It's a real shame that the DEVs don't actually have a clue as to the type of people who want to be an entertainer, they seem to feel that the only people who take up this profession are combat players just looking for something to do when they aren't in combat.
