Hehe, if I'm leader and I have to take a break, and if no one's willing to lead, I disband the group. One thing I loathe is an absent leader. It's not going to be me, and if a few AFKers are upset when they come back to find themselves ungrouped, that's too bad.

Since June 2004, running one of the game's first completely nonviolent characters. Testing the limits of non-combat MMORPG play and trying to have fun into the bargain (although the developers make it difficult).

Combat is no longer compulsory.

I do that. I've only had to disband twice that I can remember though. Usually the threat to disband will get at least one of the live people askingto take the reins. Of course, it's not often that you'll find an AFK'er in one of my full groups anyway. /mood innocent They tend to get booted as Live Entertainers come into the cantina.

Now I do have one comment on this entire subject....why do they force us as entertainers to struggle for soo long to get levels? They should at least attempt to raise the level of xp given...i can go out and shoot something that considers blue and get around 60-100 xp points for it, and im a marksmen 3/1/2/3 and that xp is with my rifle. I play my omni box as im also an musician at 2/4/4/4 and i get maybe 30 xp per flourish...and the entertainer missions are a joke to me, i still have yet to complete one, because the location they give is general area...and there's no music missions ive found, they are all dancing....why?

As far as the missions all being Dancer, they are not really all Dancer... just the description says Dancer... as far as I know, all the missions are what they were taken as from the terminal / NPC... it's just the description that's bugged... and yes there are other issues with them...

Y'know, I've been meaning to test this for like... forever.

I've been under the belief that the entertainer missions don't care if you dance or play music to complete them, regardless of what the label says. I just keep getting sidetracked with other gameplay, friends, testing, or whatever, and never got around to checking to see if playing music completes a "dancer" mission, or vice-versa. I suspect it would.

Actually I've tested this before (and also since the most recent updates.) The missions are in fact different, even if they do say they are all dancer missions--you cannot dance to complete a music mission, nor can you play music to complete a dance mission.

I play ATK at virtually all times (everyone needs to step away for a second here and there to answer the phone, get the door, etc...)

The amount of AFK entertainers keeps me from spending time in the cantinas. Which sucks, back around launch the cantinas were fun places to meet the community. I hate being the only person live in a cantina with 48 AFK entertainers. I primarily entertain at parties, known good cantinas and on multiplayer ships (really would be nice to be able to group with droids in space.) I also enjoy performing in unexpected places like starports, camps, and out in the streets/wilderness.

Has anyone noticed that there is a lack of tippers lately? I've been sticking to the Eisley Cantina on Bria and I'm not getting tips...but yet i notice the AFK dancers are getting tips...anyone have any ideas?

I also recently mastered the musician profession about a week before the removal of apprentice points, and was wondering if anyone could give me a guideline to charge for my musician buffs? I'm currently thinking about 10-15k per buff, they are lasting from what most people tell me about 3 hours...any info would be appreciated.

I have never had any problems getting tips... my method is to NEVER ask for them and to ALWAYS thank anyone who gives me one. It works wonders.

As for what to charge for buffs... I always tell my clients to pay what they think the buffs are worth. I usually get around 5k, but have gotten as much as 20k.

I do that too. I've also tossed in a countdown timer to get the point across. I usually get someone to volunteer when the countdown reaches 2.

Nope.. Whenever I go live as Inerva, I'm always ATK. Unless unpexpected housecalls or the ocassional "getting something to drink/need to go to ladies room" occurs, but in most cases I send a tell/yell/sing/recite that i'll be back asap.

I useally do well with tips, I say hi to anyone that enters the cantina and know alot of the reguliers whichis where most of my bigger tips come from. The amount earned per night dancing is always inconsistant though and compared to how much I'd make flying in the same time means I never really dance for credits just the fun.
