To each his own, I always say. Personally, I like dancing and watching the male dancers. In this galaxy far, far away, where many societies have futuristic technology, I'd also like to think they have futuristic modes of thinking. That is, there are probably quite a few straight male dancers AND gay male dancers. And, I'm pretty sure there are quite a few guys who like watching the guys. And, maybe that's the audience they're looking for. For the straight guys who get heckled, that's too bad. Ya can't get offended by the ignoramusses. Do your own thing. Same for the gay guys. And, I bet they tip pretty well too considering how it's hard to find one that'll dance for you. Just play the way you want to play and ignore the losers.

Well, I got into the game sort of late....and I volunteered to be any class my guild needed....so here I am becoming a bard

Dancing is so much easier to earn XP in than musicianship. Most of the time the band is playing a song I don't know....so I have to dance. I have never once had anyone say anything negative to me.

I also play Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Enemy Territory first person shooters. In those games, some people hate to get panzered (blown to bits by a rocket launcher) and they say the same things about panzerfaust soldiers as, I imagine, they do about male dancers. Here is what I tell them in Wolf.....just substituting the male dancer for panzerfausts

I hear that Barbie's Pet Resuce doesn't have male dancers. Maybe that game would be better for you

hey this thead has got me thinking that maybe I should take up as an entertainer as a side proffestion. I could be the first Brawler/musician ever. Hey I always liked playing music so why not in the Star Wars Galaxy could be fun. just have to wait for my graphics card now to play. And can't wait.

And the people who think male dancers are gay then just think about it this way how are the ladies supposed to have fun looking at women dancing all the time. You know there are females in the star wars universe to.

I was going to be a male entertainer brawler too

That would be the definition of a Bard, right? hehe

I want to be either a master swordsman or a master fencer and either a dancer or a musician. Didn't Bo Jackson (or was it Herschal Walker) that took ballet? Did anyone make fun of him?? I don't think so..hehe

If anyone has ever studied martial art training, it has lots in common with dancing. Jack Handy said:

To me, boxing is like a ballet,
except there's no music, no choreography,
and the d
ancers hit each other

I wouldn't say females or males are better dancers but rather when a man & woman dance together, it's always more enjoyable to watch.

Chickendreamer,

While i agree it is sometimes more enjoyable to watch, it would definately more enjoyable to do. What i mean by this is, after several hours of dancing for customers at the local neighborhood cantina, there would be nothing better than to have someone dance with you instead of dancing around you. It would also open some extra availablities to the dancing profession like perhaps salsa dancing.

I personally would love it.

I hope this helps.

Oh please, the ladies all know that we male performers are the only ones in the galaxy who know how to treat a woman properly. Smile, catch her eye, kiss her hand, listen to her talk about her day and comfort her...

This is VERY true.

yes finally made it to the galaxies. And I'm now a Brawler/entretainer who someday wishes he could become a mustian/swordmen.

Just got the entertainer part right before the servers went down just a little while ago. I was like doh. I mean all the servers are down and that's not cool. and hopefully they'll be up soon.

Do you really think that all those female dancers, are actually females at their computer? Think about that the next time you're drooling over the pretty little dancer in her bikini or underwear...

LordUlric,

Actually, I believe it was Sweetness (Walter Payton) that did Ballet. Also at one time if I remember the Pittsburg Steelers had a number of players also that took Ballet. This was back in the time of the Seel Curtain if I remember correctly. I believe they were amoung the first though maybe not the first.

hey male dancers r cool . I was having a bad day today cuz some sexist pig siad i needed to be in dress instead of armor. of course i dueled him and db;ed him but that really rubbed me the wrong way. I met this overweight wookie (who i call my tteddy bear ) who to cheer up my day started dancing. He made my day and cheered me up . Also it seems male dancers actually know how to treat their female counterparts. I wonder why =/. All the girl dancers cheered him on to continue which he did and hre was quite haooy as he became our personal bodyguard . Also some dummy said he was gay (i was in full armor so he didnt know i was a girl) and i dueled him for that and wiped the floor with him. I then proceeded to spit, punch, and jump on him whilke he laid there incapped then i said he was weak and not half the man my teddy wa then db'ed him . YAY!

I am a male Wookie dancer. And for awhile I was the BEST dancer on Bestine. I made sure all the gals that came after me were trained up and taken care of. Yeah I get alot of crap from jackasses with big mouths. Last night someone was demanding I dance for him to heal his BF. I looked around, made sure I was the only entertainer there. Then left. I'm not going to heal someone that makes demands. The other thing I found to be great are the Docs. Docs love dancers. One player was giving me grief for about an hour straight. No big deal. The next day I went to the med center for healing. Met a nice Mon Cal doc there that told me he saw me dance the night before, and saw the guy hassleing me. He also told me that when the guy came in for healing later he was refused. That totally rocked. I may not be the best, or sexiest dancer on my server, but I have a **edit** good fan base so far..

I, too, play a male wookiee entertainer (Ymorral, on Bria), and I haven't gotten any flak about it. On the contrary, I usually get catcalls, cries of "Dance, wookiee, dance!", and a ton of great new friends. Go figure! Maybe it's just the cantina on Coronet.

The female dancers in the cantina get a bit of flak, as one might expect, but the usual cantina band is always very good about chasing the jerks off, and smiting them when necessary. I don't think I've met a sect of players more willing to help out their fellow man than the entertainers. Doctors are a very close second. Awesome people, the lot of you.
