Thread: What are the top entertainer issues
In no set order
- Holocroners (but that is for most professions)
- AFKers
- Image Design User Interface need improving badly
- Missions, musicans and dancers are bad and IDers have none
- Make our healing active, not passive. I think that's the root of most of our problems. If we had to target people to initate the healing process, that would negate a large part of the effectiveness of AFK macroing one's way through the performing 3/4 of the profession.
- Make Master Entertainer desireable for all sub-classes of Entertainer, not just Musicians. And speaking of musicians, switch out where the Ommni Box and Mandoviol certifications are given. That would give the great percussion sound at an early attainable level, make the two master classes have the two on-the-floor instruments, and leave Ceremonial where it would still be something special. In Dance, switch Footloose2 or Formal2 with Exotic at Dance Knowledge 4. It's really ridiculous to have all 4 Exotic styles clumped together like that, and it would mean something to those of us who would love to dance even a few flourishes like that, but don't really want to blow all those points on doing so. And put something in there for Image Designers. It's insulting that they're part of the Entertainment class and get nothing at Master Entertainer. Perhaps the body tattoos that we've all wanted since beta? Belly/navel, chest pectoral area (for men), lower back, upper back shoulderblades (for men), biceps, forearms and calves are all areas that can be displayed if you choose the right clothing. A few simple line designs, perhaps the rebel and imperial sigils, the same palatte as women's cosmetics, and players would love it. And/or wild hair colors that match the women's cosmetic palatte, or even one of the broader racial eye color palattes.
- New types of horn soundtracks for the existing horn instruments. Ok, we have horn sound #1 and horn sound #2...neither of which sound like a flute, or a trumpet, or...okay, I'm not a real-life musician. If every single horn sounded different, it wouldn't be so godawful that there are so darn many of them. If new songs are going to be for Musicians, at least give Entertainers the sop of making the instruments they can use sound unique.
- Missions -- make performer missions scale to skill, include some way for image designers to get missions they can use their unique skills on, pay out amounts that aren't insulting, and give us factional missions we can do as entertainers...all three types.
- Put Registration as a skill in Novice Entertainer. And then fix player cantinas and theaters being set to on/staffed/sun status upon server reset so we, and our patrons, can actually make use of this neat feature.
- Limit the number of characters that can be actively performing in a public cantina, hotel or guild hall theater. Make us have to spread out a little. One full group's worth of performers in any venue is plenty for healing and socializing.
- Give Novice Entertainer something in Image Design they can do on any race or gender. Make Eye Color the thing you start out with. It's convoluted enough to do without having to find a guinea pig of a specific gender or race to start out with.

7. Do you feel that it is acceptable that the role of entertainers is being completely filled by people impersonating NPCs, leaving those who play the class with nothing to do? Do you plan to do anything about this, such as an auto-logout or making healing a more active process?
We understand the nature of this issue. In essence, we can’t prevent AFK people from playing, but one thing we are doing is looking at different ways we can encourage at-the-keyboard play.
(And I know this will come up again, so here is why we can’t prevent people from AFK. Given that this is an online game, there are people out there who are very smart and will learn how to play AFK no matter what we do. It is just the nature of the beast. So instead of keep it so that only high-end computer savvy people can AFK, we make it fair so everyone can do it instead of just an elite few.)
