I agree with you to an excent.. You'll notice I have yet to say "That's a good idea, let me run that by the devs". (Or if I have said it and it slipped my mind that I did, I haven't done it.)

And I won't until I see an idea worth merit. If I were to just take every idea and propose it, no matter how left field, then there wouldn't be much point to me being here; the devs could just visit the forum themselves and get the same information. Obviously they don't have time to do that for every profession and develop a game on top of that.

While I don't think it's ready for that, I do think the idea has merit. You just have to step back and look at things differently. Stand on your desk, get a different view of the world. (But you don't need to call me oh captain my captain.)

More specifically, be constructive. Instead of shooting down ideas, suggest changes or alternatives.

Let me try a few that would be a step in the direction away from your fears..

What if it were something that had a decay (I believe that was suggested in this incarnation of the idea) and that you had to actively do something to retain? Just having people there to click on you isn't enough; you'd need that AND to actively play. People that just have mules wouldn't want to be bothered with it unless they relly wanted the reward.

And that is the next thing.. What if the reward isn't something they want? You make a reference to the new exotic leotard. I'm mainly upset on the principal of the thing. Guys already get shafted on clothes selection. If I wanted to, I could put together a better outfit using skill tapes. (Not that I have ever gotten my hands on a mind enhancement skill tape.) In the grand scheme of things, JUST 5% extra isn't that much. 55 extra points of mind at best. For those who want to max out their mind, yeah it's worth it if it adds to what they can do. But why does the reward have to be that? Remember, there are two aspects to entertainers. One is the healing aspect. The other is entertaining. You seem to be worried that a reward will be for the healing aspect, so bots will try to go after it. What if the reward was something like the ability for an individual to register on the planetary map? Or additional lighting effects? Or group/targetted lighting effects? Or other group commands? Not something a mule would be all that interested in, and not worth the effort (Assuming the first part is true, that it involves continued ACTIVE playing to achieve) for them to try and attain.

Inside my heart is breaking, my make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on
My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die
I can fly - my friends

This isn't going to be popular but hey...

Missions just aren't that fun - none of them are. While it may sound all exciting initially, computer-generated missions will probably never be that much fun in the long term. Performing once for the Emperor may sound really neat but rinse-and-repeat any type of mission a dozen times and it's just boring. That's at least my opinion.

What I like about the entertainment profession is helping out and contributing. Healing wounds and BF in cities, camps, player cantinas and buffing is what makes our customers happy and that is the greatest reward of all. Nothing is more fun currently than having hoardes of soldiers pouring in for a quick (30sec) mind buff and then hanging out enjoying the atmosphere. With the 30sec speedbuff, I'm actually making about 80-100k per night at the player city where I perform. No computer generated "dance" mission will ever be able to reward me more than actually helping people out in the GCW or just PvE.

I'm with PrimeXar on this one,

I'm not much of a performer..so I'll use whata certain July Appletree has always told me and that is,"the path to fame comes from staying awake andsocializing instead of macroentertaining". Yes I'm proud to say I've met her!! hehe!

She has so many friends nowwho miss her dearly and wish she'd come back. I hope that I can become "famous" that way too.

I dolike the idea jeff had with supremacy in a cantina. That can maybe spice things up but true fame should really be gauged on how long you've been faithful to your profession.

Knowing lots of people and being appreciated is definately what sets us apart from the "short lived 10 minutes of fame macroentertainers". Their hearts aren't into the profession so they usually wither and die down the road.

Also, I'd like to congradulate whomever first mentioned Themepark missions for Entertainers.

I've still not been able to see the inside of Jabas hangout nor the Emperors retreat. I think it's too bad that we don't have our own themepark that Bountyhunters and Commandos can't get into.

All in all, I'd say let us focus on corrections that makes us feel appreciated and exclusive when we achieve "master" title.

"master" should open all sorts of doors for us. The buffs are one example.. but maybe we could wear certain clothing or have different hairstyles that really make us stand out and are exclusive to our showmanship needs.

P.S. PLEASE COME BACK JULY WE LOVE AND MISS YOU!!

Maybe even add trophy items that we can use for contests and when organizing events.
