i actually think the current cantinas are an improvement...now i can actually talk to other PATRONS with out all the lame emotes from the entertainers and their non stop banal chit chat.

Wait, are you saying that it's easier to talk in the cantinas nowadays ? There are no lame emotes now with 40 bots spamming them like there is no tomorrow ? That you are happy that there is no banal chitchat like "invite me pls", "I'm on auto.join", "heal me pls", "tips appreciated" today ? You know, you can create an account with SOE and I'm sure they'll let you play SWG once you pay. Please save us a lot of thinking and don't post here until you have created a character on a server of your choice. Try it, it's supposed to be fun.

Then the people who come to the cantina will be ones that really want to "see a show" or "shoot the breeze" or hear that midi play one more time

Thats the way the game works. Interdependence. You only get weapons from crafters, you only get wound healing from healers and you only get battle fatigue healing from entertainers. All of them want compensation, but I bet if you offer enough money, you could find a good weapon, a good buff and a silent entertainer if that is what you are after.

then your profession's purpose is not to entertain...it is to HEAL BF...thats all you guys are here to do...afk people can do it just as well as the live dancers..all of this chit chat and interaction you guys speak off has nothing to do with healing BF

(ps...I have never given an entertainer a dime...why do you think its worth something..all you people do is stand in one spot...it takes no effort...)

Okay, now this guy is obviouslyjust trying to get negative reactions from us what with the whole tip thing in his last post. We've already taken him through what's wrong with AFK macrotaining, and all he's doing is trying to get us riled up--my recommendation: lets stop feeding this troll, we've given him too much already.

You are right. BF healing is free. It always was. The effort that goes in to making your stay in the cantina pleasing? That's why they tip me. I work hard to be funny or welcoming...and trust me, somebody who doesn't think what we do, when done right, takes effort obviously doesn't know what we do. Why would customers tip to get by all rights is free? Because they'd rather see someone like me in the cantinainstead of somebody who is a boor. Don't believe this is important? Check the forums sometimes and see the posts and posts ofcarbineers, riflemen, bounty hunters, and commandoswho loathe to go to the cantina these days.

I'm questioning the validity of any evidence brought forth here. Not even enough to warrant taking to trial.

Think about what you just said. If they were doing it for a holo, they could care less about master dancer/musician for the buff. All they care about is the jedi.

Only the non-hologrinders want to buff people anyway.

Macrotainers have no room to talk since if the Devs frown on macrocamping dungeons it's obvious that entertainer isn't intended either. Things may change after the change to a quest system but we just have to wait till then I guess.

To all the people complaining about AFK's if u want to chat get an AOL account. I'm sorry not everyone buys starwars to become an entertainer, some buy it to become Jedi, if a holo says entertainer alot of people don't want to sit at their computers all night long chatting and doing nothing. AFK or not we still provide a service, tip or no tip. I pay the monthly charge just like everyone else so I'll stand where ever I want and spam if I want, you can ignore me. Believe me most of us AFK's don't like being in there as much as you all don't want us there.

I don't think it will return, since most guilds and player cities have dedicated afk dancers now, at least the player cities will have mindhealers/buffers most of the time, particularly if the NCP cities lose the regular staffing.

Lack of roleplay? Yes. Lack of the dancer services that most (combat) players visit the cantinas to get? No.

Remember before the whole holo thing? The reason cantinas were empty was because not many people werewilling to pay for a service rendered, so entertainers left the cantinas to run missions or do other things to generate income. I think that same problem is going to return.
