1. A good tip is about 200-500. I have gotten a few over 1k (and one at 4k, they said they would have given me 14k to buy a small house, but didn't have it on them. lol)

2. I would say average is about 50-150.

3. I've only seen a bandleader split a tip once. When I'm leading, I've never been asked. I think it'snice to see someone want to tip everyone, but it is hard to see who is where. Bandmembers have the advantage of the group list.

4. It depends on how long they are AFK. If they just went to the bathroom or something, by all means tip them. If they are AFK all night, unless they are the only entertainer, I would avoid tipping them. When I AFK dance, I don't expect to be tipped, and when I do get tipped, I'm surprised. That isn't something you should be paid for, it's usually just someone trying to crank out the XP. (I hate dancing. Once I get dance4, I may never dance again (except to try out footloose2 and formal2).

I love tipping, and in the begining, when I first started playing I tipped about 50 to 100cr. Now as a Master Scout and with my friends and I making more money with missions I always tip 1k. No matter how much or how little BF I have. The most I've ever tipped someone is 4k though. I was talking to her as she was dancing and told me she had to spend her credits to train for Dancing IV since no one was around to train her. I told her I liked her dancing so much I'd pay for the training.

Oh, and I never tip AFK, because usually I don't watch/listen to them. Because when I see someone AFK I assume they're too busy with something RL and just move on to someoen else.

And something I missed, I am a trained Medic and when I headto the Cantina, I Heal them and tip them, as it helps me with my Medic skills.

I actually always /tell my thank yous to the person who tipped me. I don't like shouting it out to everyone, especially if there are a lot of newer dancers/performers complaining about how they aren't getting any tips and I am raking it in. Don't want to make them feel bad and complain even more about it.

Here's my take on tipping

Good 500+

Avg 100-250

Splits - i play in a small place and am usually the band leader - any tip over 500 i check with the others to make sure they got tipped (if i can't tell by their thank yous). I split thebig ones up(even if it's to players from earlier in the night - sometimes our regulars have no cashearly but lots later - so i'll be sure to spread out the biggies - talking 5k to 10k range)and am known for giving out gifts of credits, instruments, clothes, you name it.

Most unusual tip - 1k of steel - i'm an artisan on the side and constantly get trades as tips

AFK - depends on how long - when i afk it's for under 2 minutes - otherwise i make someone else the leader and leave the cantina - usually i try to afk when i have to rest which is rare due to medic friends Everybody needs refreshment and nature calls on all of us once in a while I group the terminally afk'd but ignore them and so does everyone else

I hate spamming of all kinds - especially tip spamming and long singing - but that's because my thing is to chat up the crowd and spamming just messes up the chat windows for everyone - tip spammers might be surprised at how much their tips climb when they quit spamming - there again i play in a small place and everyone knows me.

Hey resources as a tip, that's cool! Like I said, if you walk in and listen to me jam and leave without tipping, I don't mind at all...but if you want to tip and would rather spair metal or wood than coin, that is awesome. I don't know about other musicians, but I can make use of metal and wood because that is what it takes to make the easy instruments, which are also the ones that sell the easiest.

1. What is considered a good tip? Anything is more than the norm, but a GOOD tip would be something ~500 credits or more. I'm happy with no tip, honestly...as long as you're nice.

2. What is the average that the entertainers receive (or want to receive)? Average amount for tips when I get tips is probably 100 credits. Most of the time I don't geta tip.

3. When in a cantina, should the entertainers be tipped separately or the band leader with a request that he/she split it? And if a tip goes to a "band", does each band member expect the amount in question 2? The reason I don't get tipped often is because I play in large bands. It's better to tip everyone individually, but you can try to do it by having the band leader split the tips...if you think you can trust him.Don't feel obligated to tip EVERYONE in the band...and try to avoid tipping the most to the one who is wearing the best garb...he probably has the most money anyway.

4. Should entertainers expect AFK entertainers to be tipped? Most certainly not.

1. What is considered a good tip?

That varies from person to person on what they consider. I've been tipped anywhere from 50 credits up to 1k. To me, 200+ is a good tip, but I am not picky.

2. What is the average that the entertainers receive (or want to receive)?

I think the going rate is probably about 100. However, a tip is a tip, and I don't mind if I only get 50. Being a male dancer, I don't get that many tips, so I'm grateful for anything. ^.^;

3. When in a cantina, should the entertainers be tipped separately or the band leader with a request that he/she split it? And if a tip goes to a "band", does each band member expect the amount in question 2?

I haven't seen the split thing. I'd say seperately, quite honestly.

4. Should entertainers expect AFK entertainers to be tipped?

If I'm AFK, as much as I'd like to be tipped, I don't expect it. That's just me, though.

I never "recommend" a tip to anyone that asks in game. I've gotten everywhere from 25 to 2,000 Very sporadic.

What I've done though is "thank" them in a sort of scale (when I remember to use it):

25-99, I emote a /thank to them

99-199, I /say Thank you %NT

200-499, I /say Thank you very much %NT

500+, I /stutter Wow! Thanks %NT!!

(I use %NT because some of the names are really very long

I also divide the tip among all currently active band members. I've no problem with AFK macroers. I just the money to players who are active at the time I get the tip.

Not everyone divides their tips. I wish they would. When I get 1,500cr tips, and don't see anyone else thanking the same person, I'm assuming they're not getting anything. That's fine of course. It shouldn't be up to the viewers to split their tips among us. But the lack of a /groupsplit nor /TipInclude, /TipExclude, /TipList and /Group Notify Tip commands puts the splitting entirely in the hands of those who want to do it.

Until such time as that becomes so, I'll do it manually. Many musicians have adjunct combat skills to do destroy missions, and everyone is capable of doing delivery ones, but you shouldn't be forced to do non-music-related activities for income if you don't want Gig Mission Terminals are my personal luv!
