Entertainer Archive
Thread: Entertainers dead in Coronet, news at 11.
By today's standards, we've always been underpaid. We also have fewer expences, so it mostly balances out. However, with so many luxuries becoming commonplace, that is changing.
You must be special, unlike all these people who couldn't make squat in the first 3 weeks.

I've always been able to make enough credits to keep dancing, just by dancing. Since dancing doesn't require thatI buy weapons, or armor, my basic expenses would be low. Just the occasional doctor buff, buffing foods/drinks, new wardrobe (the most important expense, ha ha! :smileyvery-happy
, and a small house to store it in.
I will give you an example of my income when I was primarily dancing (i.e., before I started doing combat professions also). This would have been in the October/November timeframe. Yes, there were a few hologrinders, but it didn't really crank up until closer to the holidays.
So let's say I was dancing in Theed Cantina for an evening, like 5 hours. I was easily doing 3-4 mind buffs an hour. People almost all paid 10k credits for a mind buff- I didn't ask for it, they just paid it. Occasionally it wasless but 10k is a good average (because sometimes regular customers paid even more). So let's be conservative and call that 30k an hour, x 5 hours = 150k. Not too shabby. On top of that, most people who came to watch and get their wounds/fatigue healed tipped as well, usually between 2-5k. So for five hours of dancing and socializing, I was making 150k for mind buffs and I'd estimate 40k in miscellaneous tips. Almost 200k for an evening...not bad when you consider the low initial investment on my part.
Post-hologrinding deluge and afk-zombie invasion, I don't think I could makethat much anymore. Of course I'm also doing combat now and running missions, harvesting, etc. so I haven't really spent a lot of time trying. Maybe that's an experiment for next week - too busy with GF4 this weekend. ![]()
to master musician, dancer while being afk but if it's your holo and
being behind your computer watching your character dance for 1 week...
Nonono
dance for 1 hour, SOE made macro's for something so I'm doing
it afk now also.
I have no problem with being killed by those droids while afk
but I don't appreciate that some people laugh with that and
want them to do it more and more.. respect? I don't think
you ever had to do musician or dancer? Right?
Agreed. I play music because it's fun, not to hologrind. Having people who sit there and grind while AFK clutters up the room us real entertainers have, so that means all people comming to get healed will listen/watch one of the 20 AFK'ers, while us real musicians/dancers have to sit silently and not talk.
One of the best pastimes I remember was before Holocrons and you could go into a cantina and flirt with the dancers. Even though it was old, it was at least a sense of Roleplaying within the game. Now you walk into a cantina and you see dancing corpses. Not fun. Entertainers are supposed to do just that, entertain. Not very entertaining when there's no interaction between patron and host.
*cheers*
Oh, yes! This sounds great, I only wish there were some screenshots. This goes hand-in-hand with my idea of allowing entertainers to earn their way into Jabba's, but if they're in there and macrotaining instead of entertaining they get a visit to the rancor...It seems that the devs may finally be giving the entertaining professions a little bit of love? We'll see!
