I wasn't sure if you'd got in when they were doing rapid cycles, or after they locked it into phase 1. I hadn't gotten a chance to test anything during the rapid cycling.

I sure hope you're right, but I have doubts. I mean think about it - what other professions can you leave macroing all day long while you're at work or school to continue gaining xp?Experience that can then be turned in for this FS credit? Sheesh....the minute I read that I thought "OMG here come the seas of zombies again."

Hmm... I think we mightactually have stumbled upon the REAL reason the devs want the recursive macros gone right here...

Thank you for the report Kodo'! You beat me to it.

The good news is many of the correspondents recognzed that it's just trading in one form of grinding for another, and are opposed to that, suggesting making it pure quest based. There is also a hefty opposition to the fact that getting in in the first place requires combat. That probably won't be as bad as some people expect (You get visited by the old man, you call in some friends to deal with the coming fight) but I'd rather see some non-combative way to get in.

The quests entertainers can do may be in different phase. As I understand it, the village has 3 "phases" it goes through, switching every 3 weeks. Each phase has a different set of quests. We should see things unfold as they move into testing different phases. Right now it's just phase 1.

So, certain phases of the Village offer nothing to some professions who wish to pursue Force Sensitivity? That seems like a horrible idea.

"Hey, you made it into the Village! Good! Now wait up to 3 weeks for a mission that applies to your profession!"

Doesn't sound like a good time to me

I think what's more likely is we got the shaft.

If they even considered us in their development process, why is there no place to heal battle fatigue or mind buff in the Village. It's 5000m from the nearest starport, you mean to tell me a combat person trying to get Force Sensitive is expected to ride 10,000m (actually, more) per round trip of healing and mind buffs? I'm under the distinct impression they gave us 5 minutes' thought (gave us the mind healing bonus and the xp conversion) and then threw us aside.

Hey, also - who else around here is really that excited about more Mind Healing. Why couldn't we get faster buffing/better buffing? Do they mean to tell me that I'm supposed to grind the equivalent of Master Musician 4 times just to heal up some mind wounds faster? I already heal pretty fast - who cares! Give me something truly VALUABLE to do with my new skills.

Why is the only bonus ever given to Entertainers some bonus to wound healing - who cares! Can someone please break up the love affair the Devs have with giving us mind wound healing bonuses, and bring them back down to Earth?

Trading in 1 xp to get 20 fsxp... and you can gain healing xp and music xp while afk 23/7 running a macro. Who isn't going to do that ?

Well, actually you've got it backwards. You can trade in 20 points of music/dance/ent healing xp and get 1 point of FS xp in return. But yeah, same idea.

Grinders will come, but when faced with being in a cantina for weeks on end doing something they hate or killing a bunch of stuff and getting loot in the process, a majority will choose the latter.

Actually, I think what they'll do is kill stuff and get xp/loot when they're online, but set themselves up to macro dancer or musician all day long while they're working or at school; or all night while they're sleeping. Sure, 500 xp an hour is pretty pathetic - but it's 500 more than zero.

I think you might be onto something there.

Well, I think they way they intended it to be is the way I'm going to do it.

Rather than grind non-stop, I'm going to take a casual approach to it.

Yeah, rush through the quests (I'm lucky enough to be a Master Pikeman/Master Musician[Entertainer] hybrid) like I do any other themepark, but then slow down. Use it as something to do when I've nothing else to do, or just as a way to spend my Musician XP after X amount of time playing while socializing. Take it slow and not let it get to me.

For example...

*Sigh* I'm bored. Got nothing to do. Hmmm, maybe I'll go grind some XP for Jedi for about an hour. Maybe then something exciting will happen.

Yes! I finally got enough faction for a suit of ST Armor. Hmmm, I'm maxed on XP. Think I'll swing by the village and deposit it.

[After a week of playing in the Theed cantina] Wow, my XP is near full. I forgot how fast it goes with Master. Guess I'll swing by the village real quick.

That's why I kinda like the new system--gives me something to do in the post-Master world.

Also, if you want to be a j3d3y3, you're in the wrong forum

Corvette badges are not needed to get the visitation. At least they weren't needed by anyone on TC before the builder terminals moved testing to TC2.

If you dont get the corvette, you need BOTH warren badges and almost every other badge in the game.

Not from the word on the streets I've been hearing on TC.But, I haven't done it myself, so I can't say for sure. There seem to be 5 key badges, though I've also heard rumors that every character has it's own "magic badges", as it were, to get the stranger to pay a visit. Some of the badges in particular appear to be keys though, and the people testing these only needed to get 'almost every other badge in the game' if they got the key ones much later on.

Conversely, I have yet to hear a report of the Corvette badges triggering aglow (although again, this is possible - I just haven't yet heard anyone say it did it for them). So there is still some mystery to the madness that befalls those who would seek Force sensitivity...

Sounds like the same lame-ass hair-brained scheme as the "silent holo" that made everyone go **edit**house over mastering professions.

Soon we'll have constant mass migrations to various parts of the game, in search of badges or whoelse knows.

What a joke, Very disappointing, IMHO.

Watch, everyone has a hidden Profession Badge that they need to get to unlock access to the Village.

Heh, but so far it seems the POI badges are the most important ones. Namely "Jedi POI's" like the Yavin Temple and Ben's House.

My guess is a combination of required badges and the theorized point system. In that each non-required badge has a point value associated with it, and after you get so many points you advance a level.

And there are a few quest badges that Entertainers can get, such as the Mark of Intellect.

I just ran a test of how to get to the village without combat skill you can read it here:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=TestCenter&message.id=96921

However, you will need some medic skill and wait for phase four, the invasion phase, to get to the entertainment mods. You will have to take the medic quest, group with the people who are standing around to defend the village, and heal them as they fight. This quest will take some time to complete. The medic quest in phase one opens the persuasion tree, not the healing tree.

Since I don't know everything that is involved in getting to "glow" I can't comment on that side of things.

Thanks Yosho, I was jsut going to post something similar to that.

On that note, try and take out the Sith Shadow Thugs first. They're very weak and go down fast. Take out the extra firepower first.
