I did this a few weeks ago. Went through my list and purged all the chars I rarely played anymore. All were on servers where various friends played, but had long since quit or moved on. I did not belong to a guild nor a city on any of those servers. I found I was logging in on those only to pay maints on houses. That isn't fun. 
They all had a decent amount of credits, homes, droids, pets, vehicles, clothes, weapons and quite a few rare or hard to get items, Anniversary paintings, last year's Christmas art and holocrons too. I posted on each galaxy's trade forum that I was deleting the char and giving away the items: first come, first serve, to send me a PM. After giving away most of the items, whatever was left over, I put on the Coronet bazaar for 1 credit each. (one person even mailed me asking ifI hadmadea mistake in pricing, heh) I'm sure whoever bought the anniversary painting, "Emperor's Eye" for only 1 credit was flipping out. All the bazaar items sold out within 24 hours. As soon as all items were gone, I ran around the starport until I saw someone obviously in newbie starter clothes andstealth tipped them all my credits.
Then I logged out and deleted the char.
I did that with 4 chars. It was fun giving away all my stuff. It was a cleansing experience. 
I now only have left the chars I really play regularly.

I understand the consolidation, but you should keep the other chars there for nothing else than to get the longevity awards.
The Life day ones you need to work at, but the anniversary one and last years Xmas ones you didn't. You also didn't need to for the 75K JTL bonus. Then if you still have friends there, you can still givethem gifts of a rare nature. I still have a couple anniversary paintings and even some holocrons on off servers.

I'm sorry I keep missing you but I've been working on another server lately. If you don't hook up with someone let me suggest contacting Isarik or Aopok. These guys are ATK, dedicated, and trustworthy. They will be glad to help distributed the resources.

I understand.
I would still say....take down structures and just shelve the characters. Don't delete unless you need to free up space to start a new one. All you need is for someone to have a really cool event on one of those servers and then you'd have to reroll. Server space for a character and 110 items, worn clothing and 100 in the bank is minimal. Its not like server populations have soared recently.

Heh... the only events I ever attend are on Bria... and I plan on keeping those characters.

It's easy to miss me as I don't actually PLAY these characters. I have managed to consolidate everything into one house though. The only thing I can think of that might work is to add the names you suggested to the admin list and just let you guys come and start taking the stuff. I have started consolidating the stuff on my vendors too... eventually I should have everything on one vendor for 1 credit so anyone could just come get any of that stuff. The remaining house is on Rori... I think I sent 2 or 3 people the waypoint to it. Once I have dealt with the stuff in the house and my inventory, I will just need to despense my credits and the items (pets, droids & vehicles)in my data pad (which will need to be done in person).

Hey Maisland, sorry I haven't been on much lately. If you would like to, you can offer items you don't want to my vendor near Theed for whatever you feel they're worth or for 1 cr. I will still be glad to distribute them after the holidays are finally over.

Don't worry about hogging a character slot that someone else could be using. Last time I created a character population on all but two servers was listed as "light".
I hardly get time to play my second character (a human female novice dancer on Ahazi). How much time must you have to keep track of more than 5?

It takes more time than I can spare to keep track of so many characters. It's actually something of a headache. I think I will be able to deal with 4 servers though... so will be deleting my characters on Corbantis, Lowca and Tempest because I never play them... ever. They just sit there, not doing anything but tend harvestors and pay maintenance. They aren't even in any guilds and only thye Tempest characters are in a player city.
I have already made good progress towards getting rid of all my stuff on Corbantis, once that is finished, I will start despensing the stuff my Tempest characters have.

Just a little update for you Maisland. I have been running around towns finding novice this or that with your resource packs. I offer them these wonderful gifts appropriate to their professions and tell them I will take donations for them if they can afford it, etc. They offer what they can and I tell them that all proceeds will be tipped to live entertainers. Many of them cough up a little more after that and ask what they can do for me, to which I respond "tip your live entertainers and refrain from using buffbots and I will be very happy".All of them areso appreciative that they go on to ask further questions about our issues and vow to follow our requests hehe. May not be the right way to educate the masses but it's a start. And I get to be Santa to boot So far I am 1/2 way through the first pack and have been able to tip new ATK entertainers 120k total. Watching them recieve their first big tips is just icing!

That is great! I also have 10 droids and a couple vehicles that I need to hand out...and once that house is completely empty, I will offer it to your vendor to be given to an entertainer.
I will have to actually meet with someone to hand out the droids and vehicles. Several are storage mouse droids (with both data and item storage) but there are also some droids with crafting stations built in. Once my datapads are empty, I will just have some credits to hand out to live ents. I had thought of going to Mos Eisley to give out the droids and vehicles to newbies... but if you want, I could meet you (or any of the others who might be interested) in game to give those out.
