Not because they are going after a holocron and ultimate power, but because they'd like to gain xp and maybe help a few people while they're not at the keyboard. If that manages to twist the panties of those 'dedicated players' so much that they would quit the profession/game, then maybe they just weren't that dedicated in the first place. Maybe they were just couldn't handle the idea that they couldn't force tips out of people and force them to get 'social.'

Sorry the rest of the game playing populace doesn't live up to the entertainers' expectations.

And afking isn't what kills me, I would be perfectly fine if they macroed and grinded, I'd even be ok if they were in the cantina, but not in the entrance, not in the main area, off to the side rooms please. And the spam is annoying as hell.

And I think the rest of the populace is perfectly capable of living up to our expectations, they just don't care. It's not hard to press the left and up arrow to run to a side room, sure, ask for a group, and afkmacro away, w/o spamming "can i have a heal", if somebody could heal you, they'd heal you, not like a master combat medic will waste a stim on a grinder musician/dancer thats afk.

All I can say is, I hope things eventually revert back to the days before holo-grinding. Now, some of the entertainers here (including myself from time to time ) Tend to glamourise the past. However, it was better than it is now. I hope after a bit of weeding out the afkers ('cause face it, an afk grinder doesn't stay in the profession for long. They hit Master and *poof*) and taking in some more newbies who really like the profession, the entertainer profession can heal from the disease of holo-grinding. Now, this change with the holocrons might not effect our tips, but it will most probably affect our experiences in the cantina. And if you ask me (and even if you don't, I'm telling you anyway) that's a lot better than an increase in tips.
