Gems can be used to create architectural items (e.g. heads) and (perhaps) more importantly, are used in Armorsmithing to create layers, e.g. adding Kinetic protection to armor

Lots of tailor products require gems.


Most ranged weapons require gems.


Gungan head statues require loads of gems!


I'm sure there are some other things - but for the most part Gems are a little useless!

They're also used in schematics for blasters.

Also a key component in Neutron Pixie.
