Thread: Sultrina's rules of the road
<giggle> Yes I am teh Sultrena from beta, the beta server ate my first Sultrina. I'm glad to see as a comunity we seem to agree on this. As pointed out some people are just born rude and nothing can be done to help them. We do need to voice these things in game though. We need to set an example for the poor folks who's only education to this point is how to macro. I hope everyone gets behind this because there are a lot of things that can be done with this class some of you folks have never seen before.
Thank you all,
Sultrina
1. Go to another cantina to avoid her.
2. Add her to your /ignore list.
I know it is annoying but try to remember the game is about fun. If you are getting aggravated by someone else, take steps to terminate the aggravation. These two steps I listed are the most painless ones.

I wandered into a cantina in city #1. I won't say the name. There were 2 or 3 combat types there talking in d00d-sp34k, not really RPing. I am an RPer so that is a turn off, but often the other entertainers are RPers so I just ignore the l33t crowd. But there was only ONE entertainer there, let's call her T, and T was clearly macroing AFK. Oh, she had no "AFK over her head, but you can tell. For one thing, her dancing had moved her onto the steps. No player at keyboard dances on the steps -- the moves don't look right. For another, every 2 minutes with perfect precision, she said, "Don't forget to tip your entertainers, we need money too." (Or something like that.) Third, she kept saying the same thing every time she sat down to rest, "I must take a short break but I will be able to entertain you again shortly." Other than that she said nothing, she ignored me when I said hello to her, and she did not interact with customers. So she was clearly AFKing. The other players were ignoring her. OK, so I left and went elsewhere.
I got to city #2, and it was also empty. Went out surveying and huhting, etc. A friend came on and was at city #1, so we decided to meet up at the cantina. So I went back to city #1, and T the AFKMer was still there, still on the steps, still saying the same things every 2 minutes. There were a couple of combat types talking to each other. Apparently they were new players, and they did not realize she was AFK (she still did not, even hours later, have an "AFK" sign over her head). She was animated enough that I think they thought she was actually there... but I of course could see the signs.
At this point while I waited, again with no "dancer" sign over my head, and in my jacket and backpack looking like a scout I presume, I noticed these players say a few things and make some comments. These were:
"T, we've already tipped you for the night. Stop asking us for more money." (When her "tip me" spam macro fired).
"T, why are you resting? I just healed you up to full action." (When her timer made her sit down, because they had action healed her to keep her dancing.)
And finally, "Boy, these entertainers are really annoying. Next time maybe I won't tip at all." After several repeats of the above situations.
I believe the last was meant for T's ears, but of course T was in bed, at school, at work, whatever, and didn't hear it and never will.
These players walked out of the cantina highly annoyed at being pestered for tips, being ignored when they did action heals, and generally being treated, it certainly seemed to them, like dirt, by an entertainer who was basically "ignoring" them.
Now, you and I realize that this was an AFKMer, but these new players didn't. So, when the AFKMers say, "Why should you care? It doesn't hurt you!" that's malarkey. Those players weren't angry just at "T", they were angry at "entertainers." And they are not alone.

We have a certain Zabrak on Gorath in Coronet who's managed to work in
"/emote tips his hat"
into his macro EVERY 10 seconds. He does it so often that the emote bubbles stack above his head because they don't clear off before he does it again. The whole time obviously AFK because he responds to no one. The worst part is, he does this right in the middle of the performance area. (hehe and add to it the fact that he isn't even WEARING a hat)
Would be nice if SOE could implement a command that would allow a group of entertainers to send an AFK player into the corner of the cantina, let him tip his hat over there.
I admit I macro a lot. But I macro with a progression to my flourishes, and almost always am sitting right there at the keyboard, chatting with my PA buddies, reading a book, watching TV. I'm macroing to keep down my risk of carpal tunnel, but I'm definitely NOT AFK. (or tipping my hat)
Belley:
/addignore Spammer01
Problem solved.
Why does there need to be additional commands for this?
