No, simply because when the word gets out that entertainers have added combat skills AND a mind buff then combat players would DEMAND you come with them, I for one am happy performing and my patrons are happy to see me perform. I am not waiting for jerks to start acting rude when I tell them I'm not coming along to kill some beasts, I am a performer not a combatant.
There's a reason the profession is named entertainer, if you don't see that then you picked the wrong profession. Also, nobody is forcing you to spend all your skillpoints on the entertainer trees simply because you chose one aspect of entertainer, be it dancer or musician.
And please stop with the "I can't earn money being a entertainer", if you don't get tipped enough to support yourself then you picked the wrong profession or you move around too much. I wrote somewhere earlier that I have been around the 20k credits mark for 2 weeks now, but forgot to mention that last week I spent almost all my cash on dancing skills and made it back to 20k that same night, I'm now close to having 40k and I missed a 48 hour period because the servers were all down. Try interacting with you patrons and stop asking for tips, just respond to them, example:
Last night I had a few patrons that cheered for me while I was dancing popular 2 and when they dragged me across the dancefloor ( /dance ) I responded with /changed formal, 2 flourishes and /changed popular2. Got lots of cheers, applauds and tips for doing small things like that and it is very little effort to do those small extra's to please most patrons. If someone bows at you because he liked your performance, try stopping your performance and bow or in the case of us ladies curtsey them, it's those small things that makes people remember you and come back to be entertained by you.
I'm starting to notice that people are getting respect for me as a entertainer, some are happy that i'm always there to heal them, and I'm online for only 2-3 hours on weekdays but ALWAYS at my keyboard unless nature calls. a few days ago someone licked me and 2 guys immediately asked me if I was being harrassed. I think whole Mos Eisley knows that I'm a entertainer gal who needs a escort to go safely to the bazaar because she is not a combatant even though she sometimes dances with swords, guns, staff's.
