Although I don't think /threaten works.
Try a "/threaten." Note the period./chat doesn't work at first as it defaults to /chat commands... if you add the period to the end... it works fine

/recite is also something that doesn't require having novice entertainer.

The quick reference card pdf won't load for me. Acrobat gives me a "this file does not begin with %PDF-" error. Any clue what the problem is?

Unfortunately they coded the commands so that only people without entertainer can use the /sing animations

a friend of mine showed me this command, and from what I've gathered about it, it does animations that are normally evoked through chat, but go off without having to say the word in spatial....
What I was wondering though, is there a list somewhere that shows every word that triggers an animation when said in spatial?

An example:
An entertainer does "/sing I love cheese": A musical chat bubble appears over his head with the words "I love cheese" and the entertainer's character holds his hands to his heart and does a little swoon animation.
A non-entertainer does "/sing I love cheese": No chat bubble appears, but the character does hold his hands to his heart and does a little swoon animation.
This is what I can muster from what has been said.
The avatar swoon is nothing to do wtih the /sing command.
It is triggered in this case by the word 'love'. See the post above regarding different trigger words that produce different animations.
For fear of a stealth nerf on this I kind of dont want to straighten all this out for you guys
But I will, hopefully the developers will let entertainers use this as well as non entertainers. As I think it makes the game SO much fun from the RP aspect.
Only a non-entertainer can use the /sing command to execute visual emotes.
For example, if I do a /sing cry my character will emote the cry but there will be no chat indicating I am crying.
With this I can add my own chat in with a macro.
Example:
/sing cry
:cries for the loss of her fellow Imperials!
/sing cry
This macro would do the cry animation twice and my chat would appear. If I left the chat out all that it would show in game is my character's cry animation. It will not say "Milandra bursts into tears."
This does not work if you have ANY entertainer, even if you are just trained in novice. Which is sad considering entertainers would make great use of this ability
So the /singlove would work for just the swoon animation.
If someone said this in one of their posts I apologize for the repeat

I'm aware that it's the trigger word, I was using 'love' as an example while assuming people knew that trigger words caused animation.
Another example: "/sing look at me" would cause you to primp, because of the word 'me'.
Now, it was just said that if you're an entertainer, /sing won't animate from the trigger words, so this seems to be something that only non-entertainers can do.

Actually, from what I've gathered reading this thread, and from my own experience, this is what I believe is the case with the /sing command.
Instead of making /sing an ability that only entertainers can execute (this would result in a 'you do not have the ability to perform /sing' system message), the devs implemented a filter after the command is entered.
Thus, an entertainer who uses /sing will see the little musical chat bubble, and a non-entertainer will not.
However, since this is a filter after the command is executed, anyone who uses a /sing will do the little animations that happen when you put certain words in your speech.
