I have read the different entertainer forums now and one thing repeats itself: The concern from non-entertainer players. I really like that we get the attantion from more than our own ranks but the posts surprises me.
More than once I have read that people mourns that we have lost the ability to heal BF as they liked the time away from battle and grinding. Well, I'm thinking, what keeps you from _taking_ the time to come in and say hi and enjoy and relax once in a while?
I don't mind much that we lost the BF healing (I know, I didn't become entertainer for the healing part) as I will still be joking, dancing, singing, IDing, adn entertainingto the best ofmy ability and that has nothing to do with BF.
Don't get me wrong. I think that contentwise, we should get more, more, MORE .. ahem, but as an ID, I still remember what the effects of the forced stat migration was like - not pretty. So the balance is a tough one between giving us something that makes the combat classes want to come in voluntarily (besides our entertaining skills) and giving us something that is so important that they cannot live (or fight) without it and begins to make demands /shudder
I would love to, but do you know how disheartening it is to visit a cantina filled with afk beg spamming bots? I wished SOE had "fixed" entertainer where it had to be an active ATK profession and if they had taken away BF that they replaced it with something equally important. I would love to see the early days of the cantina back again, each player ATK, joking and entertainment, but that happened then because we HAD to get bf healed, and as a result we realized we had a good time. Now, the thing is, if you don't HAVE to stop by the cantina you are unlikely to do so because there are so many other things you WANT to do in this game. If by chance you wanted to relax and meet new people, you won't find it at the cantina any longer, or at least not on my server you won't. Maybe, just maybe every once in a great while I will encounter an ATK entertainer, but it is so rare, it's hardly worth the time to drop by to see, and honestly, I haven't dropped by all since bf was taken away. Why bother going to see if there are some people around when in the days it was necessary to go there never were? This is not the fault of the ATK entertainers nor is it the fault of the combatants, but it is the fault of SOE allowing the profession to become overrun by senseless garbage players who log in an entertainer when they go to bed at night hoping to get a few credits when they wake up.
