Thread: Dealing with trolls
Vividly, Sirii!
I remember the fashion report, the interspecies dating guide, the required etiquette for cantina patrons, the treatise on the trouble with player cantinas...
I could go on and on but I'm already running the risk of sounding like a complete toady!

Suffice it to say that your columns were always served up with wit, charm, and intelligence - with several healthy dollops of bloody good sense on the side. I know I'm not alone in the hope of spotting another wildly entertaining outing by theMadamewhen I do my daily scan of the forum topics.
Apologies to Javier for spiralling off topic again!
Ever anticipating the Return of Ajaan...
Great post. Gives me the slap in the head mom always used to give me. "People can'ttalk toa brick wall. Brick walls don't answer, the people give up and go away"
Ahhh... yes.... the Grue.... the good grue. Luckily I have Grue Repellant, along with a jewel encrusted egg that I'll be putting into a cabinet soon. ::snickers:: and later, I might drown a dragon with his own reflection and then get eaten by some topiary animals.
::loves the Wizard of Froboz! Even if he fries me...::

This, along with the "Sirii Says" series, should be required reading for everyone signing up to join the forums! And Tiaga, were you perchance a "Choose Your Own Adventure" reader?I thought I was the only one left on the goddess' green earth who still warned of the grue menace lurking in the dark.

I was, yes. However, I believe the original reference is to an old old text adventure. (You know.. The great great great grandfathers of MMORPGs..) Specifically it was from the Zork series. (Zork I, II and III) and later the graphical continuations of the series from the '90s. (Return to Zork, Zork Nemesis, Zork Inquisitor) In the original incarnation, you had an old lantern. When the thing went out, you got greeted with the description of your surroundings: "It is pitch black. You are liable to be eaten by a grue." If you didn't get out of the dark somehow within a few actions, you died. I believe from that point any time it was pitch black, you were liable to be eaten by a grue.
