Thread: Entertainer Missions, Tell me this is a joke...
Ok, so they finally added Entertainer, Atrisan, and Explorer mission terminals. The Explorer and Artisan missions give a good amount of credits for the work done.
BUT the entertainer missions are ridiculous. On Naboo getting a mission in Moenia to go perform in Theed pays a paltry 183 credits. That's not enough for a one way ticket to Theed. Why do the artisans get decent credits (500-600+) for each survey mission, when they can then take those minerals and either sell them or use them to make items and sell them on the bazaar. We entertainers live off of the miniscule tips we get from patrons, and I do mean miniscule (less than 500 credits per day on average), and now we get screwed on the mission front too. We have to travel to the mission destination and play or dance for usually 10 minutes before we get the message that the mission has been completed.
I just wish that they had given us decent pay for our time investment. As it is I'm coinsidering picking up novice artisan and doing survey missions just to make enough money to train in my entertainer skills.
Oh well, guess I shouldn't be surprised.
I would love to be able to get the missions to work at all...or figure them out for that matter

Same here. My mission waypoint is just a spot on the ground. Am I supposed to just play there? How long?
you will never make any real money as an entertainer. stop complaining about it. you knew what you were getting yourself into when you chose that profession.
your only choice is to do what everyone else does, and learn a secondary skill that you can use as a moneymaker.
If you see the mission waypoint, go into that building and dance for ~10 minutes until you get a success message.
I personally think those missions suck. I spend 15 minutes running one ( select, move to target, play ) and if I deduct travel charges, I might not even come out ahead. Get two for the cantina you wanted to play in anyway. Or better yet, get two destroy missions and hope for someone else accidently destroying your target while you dance. It's a better chance of making money.
The musician board is also filled with negative response to the mission changes. There doesn't seem to be any relation to your skill level and the payout. Fundamentally, the missions are meaningless, and we'd be better off not having them in the game than having something that costs more to complete than it pays.
I'm hoping the payouts on these missions are a bug, because if not these missions totally suck! You have to perform for 30 minutes, and then you get less money than doing 2 local delivery missions would net you. And you can do a LOT more local delivery missions than 2 in a half hour.
I love the new artisan missions however,
I can't figure out how to do the explorer missions yet, but at least the payouts are good.
Hi,
Yeah, it looks like the old delievery missions will still pay better and actually work. I have tried all day to get my mission to complete. I've danced under the way point, and I've danced in the cantina next to the way point--No mission completion, no money.
I like being a dancer. I didn't do it for money and stuff. I just like the idea of it. But, it would be nice to have missions: A. Have a specific Start contact, B describe a specific timeframe to dance, and C. an idea of when the gig will finish. A higher payout would be nice.
Overall, this is a great game. I like it and will continue to play. I think I'll be skipping the gig missions, again.
Most entertainers / musicians didn't get into the biz for the money. The problem is that many of the gig missions require travel to other cities. Before the patch, we were making 400 to 600 cr per gig. Deduct the cost of travel if necessary and you have between 250 and 600 cr per gig. This isn't exactly getting rich type of cash, but it allowed us to make a living. Now, the missions pay on average 159 cr. This wont cover the cost of a shuttle to most places.
not to mention that if you get a gig in a cantina and theres a group there...
if you join the group, youre platry reward gets split. no fun in splitting 159cr 2 ways, let alone 20....
