Thread: Song Macro Exchange
Great idea, but how do you set up for a minute? I just to samll riffs right now. My favorite so far is in "rock" mode doing flourishes 8,6,7,7,8
Was also thinking of getting a permanent band together, to put a whole show on with fireworks and everything.
Great thread -- I've been thinking the same thing. Have a macro I set up for Rock on the Slitherhorn (which I creatively titled "SlitherRock") that I'm pleased with. You can simply pause 5 seconds between each flourish to keep them from piling up on each other, then pause 10 seconds where noted to play one bar of the default riff. So the macro's laid out as follows (with a five second pause between each line): Flourish 1, 4, 1, 4, 3, 2, 1, 5, 5, 7, 2, 1, 5, 1, 5, 5, 7, 3, 6, pause10 seconds, 7, pause 10 seconds, 3, pause10 seconds, 6, 2, 5, 5.
Also works well as a short practice session on the other tunes on any instrument, though it sounds more scattershot.
Huh, we don't have to run these by ASCAP do we?
Later,
Mauries
Cheers
Very good idea.. I've found that macroing the flourishes gives me time to make up lyrics.. I haven't taken the time to include them in my macro.
I will be working on some "Folk" songs later on today.. heh visited several 50's 60's lyrics sites for ideas.
Is there a way just to DL a .txt file into your macro folder? What format are the Macros in? We can work on exchanges.. I've found that people really enjoy singing.. and so few entertainers do that.
We are the dedicated ones I guess.. heh
Rock on my brothers..

Yes, it's called aliases...
and they are loaded with the /load command.
If you just want one all purpose alias document, the one you will load every time you start SWG name the txt document aliases.txt (I belive it's called, else type /load and it will tell you which .txt it was trying to load). Then every time you start SWG just type /load and you will load your aliases, else i think it's called /load ".txt name" (without the "") this will load the alias scripts. The .txt should be put in the root of your SWG folder.
The way you make your alias in the document could be like this.
PlaySW2 /flourish 4; /flourish 4; /pause 9; /flourish 6; /flourish 3; /pause 9; /flourish 2; /flourish 2; /pause 9;
You have to use ; between every command. Put it all in 1 line, and give it a name you would remember. The name of the alias is the first string, in this example its "PlaySW2".
Then when you in SWG write /load (if you called the txt aliases) you will be able to write /playSW2 and it will play your aliased tune.
If you write /alias in the command, you will be able to see the list of aliases you have loaded. This is a good way to make some easy editable macros.

You can also do this with a /music loop for 24/7 play!!!
yes its bad, yes I think its like cheeting
BUT you get the exp and untill SOE change the /load command we can ALL do it....
oops forgot to finish my last post
To start this up you need to type the following IN GAME
/load dance.txt
THEN type
/dma
to START the macro LOOP
Want to do a song about a father riding deperately on a swoop bike to get his dying son to a doctor. Kind of like the Schuman Liedersong(I think that's right). The only problem is that sw1 is too upbeat. Well that and trying to get my Tran to cry at the end.
Well thanks for the alias tip.. I'll have to try it out. Iset "Louie louie" to SW2 and had to make a macro for the song and a seperate macro for the lyrics.. I kept getting the timing off. This way I'll be able to make the song in one window YAY! Is there a way to edit the macro ingame? Playing in a window is the only way I can see it.. hmmm
I've begun work on a few songs myself, from the Folk mold. Stuff about Ryloth, and spice and the oppression of the Empire, but I'm still dealing with the best way to macro it, how long for pause, emotes and socials, etc.
Would be great if some us potential singers decided to pen few public domain songs that we could share .... I can see a point where our patrons actually request songs.
I have no web skills at all but I would love ot write with some of you ... if anyone is interested let me know at [email protected]
Again great post!

If you go to the action window (ctrl-a), then the macro tab you can see all the ones you have defined, just select the one you want to change, and hit the "edit macro" button.
And you can alt-tab out the game when it's full-screen. There may be an option you need to activate to allow that, though.
You now recieve a message saying "Alias recursion guard hit. Stopping Alias execution." when it's trying to do the second loop. All I wanna do is dance while having my hands free to interact with the folks around me and put 100% of my concentration on them while still earning xp. At least until I get to pop-n-lock then I'm stopping danceing for xp and it's all about fun then
