Test Center
Version 0.130329Misc.
- Players should be able to execute certain commands right after moving. For example: dancing, singing, placing harvesters, placing houses, etc. Previously, players could not execute certain commands right after moving, as if the system erroneously thought you were still moving.
Profession: Dancer, Entertainer, Musician
- Entertainer professions will now be able to apply non-combat profession specific inspiration buffs.
- Inspiration buffs should now give the proper bonus to crafting experience.
- Typing /flo will once again expand to the /flourish command.
- Fire Jets 2 and Bunduki 2 icons should display correctly now.
- Twi'leks should no longer have unused innate skill modifiers.
- The Dance Floor command has been renamed to Floor Lights (/floorLights) to avoid conflicts with the /dance emote.
- Entertainer experience should now use the proper XP point limits.
- Inspiration Buffs should now properly use an entertainer's Music or Dance Enhancement skill modifiers.
- Music Wound Healing and Dance Wound Healing skill mod tapes should convert to Music and Dance Enhancement respectively.
- Test Center - Profession: Dancer, Entertainer, Musician - Adding entertainer enhancement bonus when performing in an entertainer specialized city.
- Test Center - Dance props will now be unequipped if you revoke a skill and are no longer certified to use them.
User Interface
- You can now detach, attach, rename, delete, and reset chat window tabs. The chat window settings are saved properly.
- You should no longer get a 'listen' or 'watch' option on an entertainer's radial menu if you are already listening to or watching them.
All of the following information is based upon testing done on TC last night.
Entertainers can perform three types of Inspiration at Novice Entertainer:
General -
Increase experience by 10%,
Increase faction points by 10%
Artisan -
Increase artisan experience by 12%,
Increase resource quality for artisan crafting by 5%,
Increase assmebly success by 5%,
Increase experimentation success by 5%.
Entertainer -
Increase entertainer experience by 12%,
Use more instruments,
Use more dance props.
At Novice Dancer you receive the ability to inspire chefs, tailors, bio-engineers, merchants, image designers, and musicians.
At Novice Musician you receive the ability to inspire architects, droid engineers, weaponsmiths, shipwrights, armorsmiths, and dancers.
Notes:
At this point, we can no longer inspire ourselves.
These inspirations are not able to be AFK macroed.

two questions, why do artisans get a reduced inspiration buff compared to other proffesions, and are jedi going to be able to get inspiration buffs for lightsaber crafting?
Artisan buff is granted at novice entertainer, hence is lower.
Jedi I believe are not getting a bonus, but haven't seen any around doing crafting to test (there is a gamekiller bug hitting many of us on the current build and we are waiting for it to be squashed).
I will send the devs flowers if they keep it like this.

And since it can't be AFK-macroable...Man...Not even the buffbots can get us! This made my day. At least...From the patch notes. We'll have to see how it works in practice, I guess. 50 charge holo-generators will be nice, too!
I have never spoken out with anger before on any code changes SOW put forth. However, I feel I must now! I am not the only crafter who takes immense pride in going after the best resources and painstakingly collecting, harvesting the ones that make our products even a bit better. It's hard competition out there and for me, personally, it is very rewarding to slowly improve my products over time. It requires patience, organizational skill, and persistence. These are 3 attributes that identify the crafter community.
By introducing a buff that affects resource qualitySOE makes it harder for you as a crafter to stand out. Everyone is saying that your weapon now will be a bit better than before and that is true but the point is standing out. It doesn't matter if my weapon is uber when 20 other WSs make the exact same thing, especially when before only 5 did. At the moment, it is too easy to find a 90% quality resource and the buff making it 100% separates the persistent crafter with the tourist crafter!
Personally, I would not feel much pride making a great gun using my backup resource after listening to the 'Transdoshan Black Eyed Peas' in the Mos Eisley cantina no matter how good they sound!
I would feel great pride making the same gun when I had to wait for 3 months for a good spawn of Rhodium Steel.
I apologize for taking the liberty to post here in your forum. Please understand I mean no disrespect and I am all for the entertainment community getting content. It has been a long time coming. However, I would have loved to see said content arrive without wounding any other profession.

They could have made you guys "more useful" by giving you a defensive buff or an offensive buff for combat types......instead of boosting resource quality through a buff they could boost ranged and melee defenses by 5-10% or even damage output by 5-10%.
everyone would flock back to ents in droves....
instead they effect crafters who take pride in their work and resource gathering to create the best product available.
if this change goes through i will be dropping artisan for novice bh and some cm.....ill be able to make more money with the loot drops on npc bh missions and will never need to use an entertainer again.
thanks soe.
No you won't, the marks that drop the really good loot are being moved to the MBH box, novice won't be enough.
This part of the buff enhancements is a horrible change, surely they are capable of introducing something to one profession that's not detrimental to another. My gast is flabbered.

Thank you again for letting me vent!
I have to fully agree here.
Apologizes to the Entertainer community as I truly believe you guys needs loving. But the resource buff has to go. It is devastating to the veteran crafters. The other buffs sounds great and believe me I woudlnt craft without the one that boosts the chance of getting Amazing successes so theres still plenty of use for you guys if this goes through without the Resource buff.
The resource buff is a very bad move and that cant be said enough.
Again sorry for cluthering up your forum, but the concern needs to be aired and I believe that voicing it here might up the chance of us getting some dev attention on this issue

Nice changes, except the resource quality +5% which would have a huge impact in crafting and resource prices. It's a step towardsmmorpgs where all crafters make equivalent quality stuff. That buff should be removed.
Unless....is it really only "Artisan" crafting? So it doesnt affect armorsmiths, weaponsmiths etc.?

Sorry but all crafters are included. I hear Architect are now making BER 11/14 harvesters instead of 10/13 and BER 15 Fusion

I welcome your input, and always love to see new faces around the forum.
I share your concerns about the possible effects on established crafters, and I think everyone here can relate to that in some way--for example, our "loot" clothing item and skilltapes all lost usefulness with the Combat Upgrade, making a Master Dancer with maxed clothing mods barely more desirable (so far as game mechanics) than a Novice Entertainer. But overall I don't believe the effect of these new changes will be crippling to the elite crafters out there.
For example, I notice you're a 12-point Master Weaponsmith. With the boost in resource quality you receive from the new inspirations, your already uber resources will be all that much closer to the cap, and so your experimentation points will be spent less on making up for areas where the resources were lacking, and more for fine-tuning the weapon to perfection. Newer Weaponsmiths still won't have much chance of getting resources nearly as snazzy as yours for awhile, and it will probably be even longer before they can afford to buy 2 points worth of experimentation tapes.
So, will this have an effect? Yeah. It'll give newer players the chance to make decent weapons to sell for a decent price. It'll also push established crafters that much further toward making perfect products every time.
I know this is a small comfort--heh probably not a comfort at all,
Again, welcome to the Entertainer forum, and don't be afraid to come around whenever you like for a laugh, a cry, a rest...whatever you need.
Begin Edit
I forgot to mention...if this is what you call angry venting, *please* keep it up. That is one of the most clear, kind, and constructive ventings I've ever seen!
