Thread: Entertainer XP Buffs, for the future?
WoW has a system in which you can take a "break", and after this "break" you get an improvement in the amount of experience you earn.
Wouldnt this be a worthy replacement for the Mind Enhancements?
It would work like this... go to the cantina. Get a buff. For 2 hours (or for awhile) all earnt experience will be improved.
This will not only apply to combat professions, but also Scouts, Artisans, Pilots and Medics, even Entertainers themselves. It offers a greater variety of customers, it doesnt make combat unbalanced, and it gives a very good reason why all players would want to take an Entertaining break once in awhile.
Its also more realistic. Instead of making people thick-headed as a bull, you rest their minds, so they are better at taking in and learning new information.
It also offers entertainers a more unique role, that cannot be replaced by other buffs, such as brandy.

Maybe it can even be used for Entertainers themselves, artisans, scouts, medics and pilots... giving a greater variety of "customers".

Actually, buff will be gone before the bot... ![]()
With that much of the need for the profession...![]()
AFK buffers make active players less useful, but without something to offer, they are completely gone ![]()
I think nobody want them to leave, but with the entertainer revamp they really need a new and exciting role.

EDIT: Ok maybe I missunderstood. The ents wouldn't have an active roll in this? Just being in the cantina alone would get you the buff? If that's the case, then it's not such a fun idea.
And Rosaria, you bring up a good question. *passes around the tin foil hats*

No, i didnt meant "stand in the cantina for awhile". Thats how it works in WoW I think, but in SWG we actually have real entertainers... so ofcourse I meant that the "buff" must be applied by an actual live entertainer...
The push for an entertainer-revamp after the cu (should have been done WITH the cu imo) will be great. In that revamp, afk-entertainers will most likely be removed... but in the same revamp they ofcourse need some fresh new ideas how entertainers may be able to offer something valuable to thoose who pass along.
It even includes the "powergrinders" who normally dont feel they have the time for a buff. With this they would actually earn from taking a break! ![]()
(and in my personal opinion, entertainers should be able to play beyond the cantinas, just like doctors...
)
