If someone knew they wouldn't be allowed to talk about it according to the beta NDA.

Just let me assure you that Entertainer and every other class will be much more worth the time then it was before the CU. The CU will be AWESOME!

I will try to get an answer to this...

There's a Combat Upgrade post in the GCW forums that said that they were removing wounds from any stat except health. The ramification of this is combat professions will have no mind wounds, etc. (battle fatigue stays ingame tho). How will novice entertainers gain healing exp when this hits? (not counting battle fatigue, i'm assuming they're going to compensate your profession). I was wondering if anyone here (possibly the correspondant) would know......

Umm, in case you haven't noticed, the devs have only TAKEN from our class. Any additions to us is "outside the scope of the CU" and therefore, in the CU, we only lose. The CU will be awsome if you like combat. If you're a non-combatant, well, the world just became very harsh

Just read a bit about the CU, and I have to say it concerns me.

I have the impression that the entertainer profession will be quite broken after CU.

- with reduced importance of mind buffs, the removal of stat migrations, and the removal of mind wounds, there is little chance for an entertainer to get money at all. Because of that, other than the looks and sounds of playing music and dancing, there is little reason to master the professions at all.

- ID'ing skills will still have their effects, however, actual ID jobs other than stat migrations are relatively seldom. Sure, that's the reason why it'll be a side profession in the future. But is that the right way?

The overall game focus moves to combat in my opinion. Now, if I wanted that, I could play ANY MMORPG, it might not necessarily be SWG. (I'd prolly select the MMORPG with the least bugs.) I like SWG for what it is, to be honest, giving me the ability to chill ingame most of the time by being an entertainer. While I agree that combat might need improvements, as the high soloability grade of it does not really care about the multiplayer aspect, I refuse to understand that fixing that would necessarily mean to move the focus of the game, or to remove the interdependencies between professions. I also agree the overall game could be a bit more "Star Warsy". Now -- is entertainment completely Un-"Star Warsy" then!? I think for the starwarsiness of the game there are other things which could be considered. Why for example is the smuggler profession so poor? (And if you're honest, although I don't mind about them ingame and don't want to offend any by this, in which way do Jedi fit into the timeline at all?)

If just a more star warsy and more balanced combat system means everything else will be nerfed, and people have to wait a few months to get their professions balanced, then I think a lot of people will be annoyed by it and eventually leave the game.

I really hope I'm completely wrong about my expectations. I don't want to leave the game, however, when my full entertainer char is useless, I'm not gonna keep the account with my combat char either.

Don't be so pessimistic. Obvsiously, the document that was released is so incomplete that it does not even make sense if you fill in the gap with current knowledge.

For example, they say you can't master 3 combat professions, but given the skills required to get novice pistoleer, carbineer and BH it looks like you could master the 3. That means one thing : they will either change the cost of the skills or change the overall number of skill points you have or something else... that means : it is too soon, we don't know for sure what it is gonna look like exaclty.

I could also run to the Doc forums and yell : "that is horrible I won't be able to be master doc / rifle anymore" that would be stupid and vain.

They said they are removing the wounds from other stats than health and stat migration? they will prolly think about something else for entertainers, maybe the importance of battle fatigue will be increased so very much that you will be needed even more... I dunno, no one knows, be patient and optimistic, cause what we know for sure, so far, sounds really cool

I'm not too concerned about the changes at the moment. However, the only change that I am concerned about is how new entertainers will gain healing xp. You can't heal BF until you nit the elite professions if i'm not mistaken.

Unless they snuck something in while I wasn't looking you can heal BF with novice entertainer - in the old days people picked up novice to heal their own BF when they couldn't find an entertainer.

You can heal it, but you have no actual skill modifiers for it until Novice Dancer or Musician. So until then, skill tapes and Twi'lek racial bonuses don't apply.

At this point i'm on the wait and see list too, i was just hoping the correspondant had more info and could clarify the issue.

(Side Note)On the Doc/Rifleman issue...Sombody can still have that template as medic isn't an 'elite profession' and thus wouldn't count toward the cap of being able to master only 2 elite professions. Even w/having to have ranged support 4 they'd still have enough skill points to achieve it.
