I mean, I am not greedy by any means but what is with people tipping 10 credits. That is kind of a slap in the face, no?

Keep in mind that a good many of the rewards for combat types are directly deposited into the bank. I play a marksman/brawler and I've lost count of the number of times I've tried tipping about 100 credits to discover I have all of 10 on me.

I say the /tip command needs to be able to access the bank account. People are more free with their money when it's available.

Depends. If they had a lot of battle fatigue, then yes it might be. If they had practically no money, then probably not.

However, if they didn't have any BF and tipped you, then it is a bonus really.

I never worry about what people tip my entertainer character. I like big tips, but I enjoy playing the character too much to worry about it.

you CAN tip form your bank heh, that's my point. Type /tip bank "player name" amount.

Ryyger, you can tip from your bank

/tip # bank

I believe that is the command.

There is a 5% surcharge though.

no, not a slap in the face. I wish that every single person that entered a cantina tipped 10 cr. If that happened we'd all be rich.

The fact is that only X% tip and I'd say it's less than half but not by much.

Accept that gratuity.

Slap in the face? Not at all. I'm actually just happy if someone says they loved the performance Anything above that is a bonus, when I want money I play gigs for nobles who have money! (refer to my 5 step gig guide on Entertainer board)

It's a tip, not a payment, anything you get is something they're giving that they can spare. And emphasis on the word giving, since a payment is required and tips are not. I see people misuse the word in MMORPG's all the time. If you're reminding people to tip you that's not a tip, thats begging for free money. If you won't do something without a tip, thats a payment requird for services rendered.

I've said it before, play entertainer type professions for fun and nothing more. If you expect money to fall out of the sky you're gonna be waitin for that occasional customer that actually gives 1000 credits....once a week. It's best to just jam and talk, people give ya tips if they can get away with missin a few creds...not like they just sit on the money and horde it; they want to buy stuff too.

Not a slap in the face at all. Novice brawler and Novice marksman means they haven't mastered anything yet it might be there first day it might be their 10th who knows. Say thank you as warmly to them as you do to the guy that tips 1k cause that newbie Novice might remember the acknowledgment and tip more the next time.

If you are in a large group expect smaller tips folks are trying to tip everyone not just you.

Before you get offended, consider also that a person handing you a 10cr tip might actually have been thoughtful enough to tip the other members of the band as well.

If we had this /grouptip command that gets bandied about, how much do you suppose your split of a typical 100cr tip would be? 10-20cr.

If you see any tip as a "slap in the face" then maybe you should reconsider your career.

No, its far from a slap in the face. In fact, its more like a foot massage.

You have absolutely NO way to know how much money he was able to spare. Even if he was a novice marksman/brawler that doesn't make him rich. I have a novice Marksman myself and i run missions all the time, for a 1000 cred profit every time. Guess what? He's still broke half the time.

Marksman have a little thing called a gun that sometimes need to upgraded. There's a little thing called Supply and Demand that causes there to be a price on everything. The marksman needs that gun so he can live long enough to fight and get those mind wounds and battle fatigue. The mind wounds and battle fatigue give you skill.

I'm not saying the skill is its own reward, we need tips too, but also remember that if he gave 10 cr tips to 5 people in the band its 50 credits that maybe he needed to buy some bone armor.

I'll admit that whenever i see a 10 cr tip come in i am disappointed, i'll always prefer 100 cr tips, but if i want to make money i'll spend 100 cr on getting novice artisan. or i'll find a gig. or i'll do a deliver mission. or i'll take up marksmanship and do a destroy mission. Or i'll play the market and buy and resell at an inflated price. (that does work well, btw)

Ok, bye
