What do you all as entertainers think are appropriate tips? I realize that some will be greatful for any tips. I'm wondering if there is a common amount people use to determine how much to tip the average entertainer? I thought that perhaps the amount of battle fatigue healed would be a factor. And of course, how good the music/dancing is. Just thought this would be an interesting topic of conversation.

I am not quite yet a Novice Musician, but I will be tonight (I hope). I can answer for you on tipping with my own opinion.

I personally have never asked for a tip. And I will not ask for a tip. However this early in the game, we have people that honestly don't know how to tip, and/or didn't know you could tip.
Several people in my click, have macros set up, that let people know how to tip, but the longer we have been playing, the less frequent they macro. Now they mostly macro welcomes, and hope you enjoy the show messages.

For the average person who is not to badly hurt, 100 cr tip is nice. if the person tips me even 1o credits, they still get my attention and a hearty thank you! I realize some people just don't have funds flowing at times. Myself included But when we get a really banged up person in, it is nice when they give a bit more. But its not expected by any means.

For myself, as a musicain, a 100 credit tip is what i would think is standard. If I am doing a really good job and you tip me more...Fabulous! So there ya have it, imho

As I haven't tried the Entertainment trade yet, I can only comment as a spectator.

Personally, I tip about 300 every time I drop by the Cantina. 300 credits for 5-10 minutes of watching seems pretty fair to me.

I personally think a tip should be based on a few different factors:

1) How much you appreciate your entertainers presence (train of thought being like this, "I'm so glad people are entertainers in this game, without them, us combat folk would have a really hard time moving along *HUG*").

2) How much you enjoyed the show (not being afk, using variety, etc)

3) How much you can afford (pretty self explanatory)

Hmm, this brings up a question I had not thought of before when I posted my previous question. Is there a big benefit, or any at all, for listening/watching more than one person at a time. The problem I have with tipping is that I want to tip every person I'm listening too but giving 6 different people 100 credits each gets expensive, hehe. Of course, if I can only get a benefit from one particular person at a time then there is no need to listen to multiple people, right? I don't mind tipping, and I feel it's neccessary despite the fact they are getting exp from us as most people suggest. I am however worried about breaking my own bank each time.

when you listen or watch someone they are usually in a band just like your fighting groups and it is the collective efforts of this band that melt away your battle fatigue and heal mind wounds which is why when you listen to a large group it should go down faster

what we sorely need is an autosplit option like the fighting groups have that split tips evenly among the band

not to complain but all too often people tip the dancers and not the musicians so if theres 5-6 people in a band that healed you you could give each of them 30cr trust us any tip is a good tip and when you get several thank yous we will know that you divided the tip amongst all the members of the band so dont feel bad about the lower number!

I can answer this question from both sides of the board as I have both a combat-heavy scout and a two entertainers, one dancer and one musician. As the scout, I frequently visit cantinas as I don't like my fatigue gettting over 100. I usually tip 15c for every 10 BF points healed and I have yet to run into a problem, and when it comes to group tipping, depending on the size of the group, i usually give them 20c or so apiece. And as afore mentioned, musicians and male dancers need money to level up, too. I get tired of seeing people who just tip the most scantilly clad female dancers. Tipping the musicians can help them to learn new songs to make the show better and male dancers (kinda makes you think of Chipendales, huh?)are in just as much need as the females

What is an appropriate tip?

Simple answer: whatever you can spare be it 3000 or a thank you. Let me know you enjoyed or hated the show and our band (Awi Euw Dancers Featuring Famous Fat Wookie Band) can work on that.

More involved answer: We will take anything you want to give. One player could not afford to tip us so he grouped with us and ran a mission. Another gives items, one gives 1c, another gives 3000c. We try to split it up between us and work together to get better andanything you give helps. LikeI said before, even a complaint may be a tip because that will help us get better. Tip the band, tip our skinny wookies and male dancers. Our tips go to tipping medics, helping regulars recover items lost, skills, to our new dance hall, etc.

If you cant tip, say thank you. We love our crowd they are the best we have seen anywhere. Thanks guys and gals!

Hi all - on group tipping - We have a great audience - I usually play longer/later into the night than the rest of my group so I get the big tips when our regulars finally have some moolah rolling in - what I do is split it with my regular group the next day. This keeps them playing (and not running delivery missions which are a waste of time). We also teach each other for free and pool resources/travelling to gain training for the whole group. I'm concentraing on being a musican but I don't hesitate helping the dancers and image people gain skills. In return they pitch in when I need help.

As a side point - I also help the medics out in getting the moolah for skills - I think they are actually having a harder time of it.

Although I havent had much game time, I have spent a fair amount of time in cantinas refreshing my action pool from surveying.. and because I dont make any money apart from a few odds and ends I tend to tip between 10-50 credits. I know its not a lot but entertainers really need to realise that a lot of people simply can't afford to tip.. but then again theres the stingy nontippers.

By the sounds of it, the tips even out, with the little tips and the occasional big tip.

i usually tip depending on a couple of factors.

-how many wounds
-how long im in there
-if the entertainer was good (talkative, flourishing etc.)

if they do 'the job' they get tipped very handsomely 200-2000cr+ per visit/person (if in a group). they must love me since i come in often and with over 200 bf's (what can i say im a sucker for punishment )

i tend to tip less to afk entertainers (sorry) but they still get payed well. about 20-200cr.

My opinion on this: I"ll take pretty much anything you want to throw at me. I'll smile and thank anyone that give me from 1c to 2k..though i'm a little more "Friendly" with the ones that tip over 500c...i'm very poor and have a clothing addiction. I understand that armor and equip is expensive so i don't get annoyed at all if i'm not tipped, usually out of a crowd of 10 people, only 4-5 will tip at all and i'm fine with that, at least its something. And i adore the ones that tip me by healing my action pool, it's such a waste of time to sit and wait for it to regeneratewhen i could be dancing! I hate it when people spam , "tip the entertainers!" The only thing we have to spend money onUSUALLY is clothing or if your really high lvl, skills.

i've found that on average, 1 out of 5 people tip. and on average, their tip is about 50c. maybe 50-100c. anyways, even in the larger cantinas, this does not amount to very much money per day. while i never spam for tips, and i appreciate anyone that actually does tip, no matter how little, here is the bottom line:

if you want entertainers in the cantina when you want healed, you better start upping the ante.

i think between 300-1000 from our average patron should become the norm. eventually, we're all going to want to get houses, buy more clothes as old ones wear out, etc. that costs MONEY. not 6 50c tips a night. and if we don't make it entertaining, we have to make it some other way. so if YOU want US in the cantina when you walk in, ESPECIALLY when we get to higher levels, and can heal you quickly, then we need to be supported by tips.

this goes DOUBLY for medics; as they actually have to expend resources/money to get you back on your feet.
